COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The satisfying elements of both stout and coffee come together in this full-bodied treat. A marriage of Sumatra's best with rich chocolate and roasted malt provides for a truly enlightening beer.

Draught. Pours dark brown with tan head and moderate lacing. Although the coffee is evident, the chocolate and roasted malt are apparent. I question the choice of Sumatran coffee. Could also use some more fruit in the background.

Smells like chocolate and coffee. Low to medium carbonation. Very lightly foamy and creamy mouthfeel. Thick and syrupy. Taste is dark chocolate and roasted black coffee. The most prominent flavor is the coffee, and boy is it strong. Aftertaste is long length and the same, with a bit of alcohol warmness and bitterness (unfortunately).

Aromas of espresso, mocha, coffee rinds, black coffee beans, roasted malt, dark malts and earth. Appears black with a thin tan rim. Taste is strong cold pressed coffee, espresso, cappuccino, mocha, roasted malt, char, earthy malts. campfire burn, subtle chocolate and some plum juice. Overall, if you’re a fan of coffee beers this is the one for you.Coffee dominates the aroma and taste.

6 ounce sample from a 12 ounce bottle. Aroma has some mocha coffee hints present. A bit charry and metallic. Pretty nice. Mostly opaque black body with a medium light tan head. Super coffee like flavor in the start. Medium roast in the middle. Mediocre sweetness. Good stuff.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a tan head. Aromas of coffee along with dark roasted malt and some chocolate. Flavour is predominantly coffee and roasted malt, chocolate and a nice bitter finish. Great full body.

Nice black pour with a light brown head. Heavy coffee aroma upfront. Tastes of coffee, bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Lots of flavor here. Nice thick texture. Really good beer from Bell, ’s.

Old rating. Awesome coffee forward beer. Pretty much espresso/coffee flavor all the way through. Maybe a little oak and chocolate too. Not too heavy. Real tasty.

Pours very dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma of rich dark coffee. Taste is similarly heavy with good coffee. A very good, uniquely coffee-oriented brew. Thumbs up!

Very dark coffee smell, very dark, heavy and strong coffee but fairly smooth, finishes with coffee grounds but not in a bad way, coffee is all you taste though, one dimensional...

A unique beer, as you’ll see a lot of "coffee" beers that you barely taste the coffee. This java stout tastes exactly as it sounds. Was a little on the strong side (alcohol content) for it’s flavor, but I’m certain that’s what they were shooting for. Relatively heavy for a stout, with a bitter aftertaste.

A little woody. A little thin with a hint of burnt coffee. Not bad. Solid take on the style
