jjuf1853 (170), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA May 1, 2008 Bottle pours a pitch black color with a thin brown head. Very nice lacing that clings to the side of the glass and just lingers there. Robust aroma of roasted coffee beans and rich dark chocolate. Flavor is cofffee, roasted malts, and bittersweet dark chocolate. Just the right amount of bitterness in the long lasting aftertaste. Wouldn’t have guessed it is 7.5% as it is extremely smooth.
Beerman6686 (504), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 Poured a nice opaque black color with a tan head. Aroma was of coffee and spices. Flavor was of a little coffee and some strange spicey, almost a chile beer flavor, very strange. Funknmilla (471), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Jul 2, 2008 12 oz bottle...Thank You Daknole!....Dark brown sugar head, dark dark brown body--almost mistook as black...Aroma is a fresh bag of whole bean coffee...bitter like Blue Mountain beans...after sitting less than 3 minutes, a sweetness enters the nostrils...so far a true coffee experience....fresh beans--then they are ground--cream is added--so far this is all before I have sipped it--ah the coffee is being created in my mind, now to taste-->Body is silky and smooth, rich and full, sweet, but not too sweet...coffee coffee and coffee...a bitterness in the finish--this beer defines coffee to me...dense and intense...lacing is dotted but sticks--overall balanced and easy to drink , yet it lingers on every taste bud...a wonderful caffeinated alcholated created beverage...palate nice, low carbonation--an alcohol infused coffee, but so much more,,,yum yum and yum I could drink this in the morning b4 the job...:) IPAaLLtHEwAY (79), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Jun 28, 2008 Boooya! Pours black with a sexy brown head. Aroma is of coffee and a hint of chocolate. The taste is awesome because it reminds me of black coffee, not hazelnut or vanilla or what have you. Very delicious. douglas88 (583), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jun 27, 2008 Bottle thanks to EithCubes. Pours a dark black with a nice frothy beige head. The aroma was mostly a rich and great cup of joe. The taste was quite full and very smooth; tons of slightly bitter coffee beans and some rich burnt coffee/malts. Also, their is a sweet plum and chocolate aspect that balances it out. Very nice. What I expect from Bells-quality. amish_caravan (155), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jun 24, 2008 can you say coffee? scent is very coffee’ee. taste of coffee bean and burnt roast. a slight hint of chocolate. The coffee taste is a little overwelming, so I would probably not purchase this again. it is still a well constructed beer with good complexity.
