Tap at Gingerman. Pours orange with nose of gummy bears. tastes of cherry, lemons, horseblanket, some spicy rye, and wood. nice sour vinegar palate.

Draft at Ginger man. Pours a hazy orange golden body with thin white lacing. Aroma is light overall - sour fruit, lemon and salt. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of gummy candy, light carbonation on the palate and salty funk. Pretty tame overall.

The breadiness of the rye is kind of low in the mix here. Nice bit of funk and barnyard, with a fairly thin body. Slight salt taste. A very unexpected beer

Tap at The Oak. Murky copper-amber pour with a small foamy head that barely moves at all. Thick soapy lacing after each sip. Huge barnyard in the aroma mixed with funky, sour tropical and citrus fruit. Tastes like barnyard, leather, overripe citrus fruit, wet leaves, strawberry, light pineapple, and earth. Touch of rye spice in the finish. Unique and complex but itís a tad messy. Thicker body than most sours gives it a pulpy feel too which isnít great. I love the effort here though. Enjoyable but not great.

Draft at Keystone-Clifton. Left over from the Bellís tap takeover they mustíve had recently. Mustíve missed the announcement. Pours a hazy, somewhat dull orange with a small off-white head that doesnít last at all, just some bubbles around the edge. Lots of fruits lead the aroma, with pineapple, mango, melon, sweet citrus, funk, sweet malts - didnít get much rye in this. Same with the flavor, which also had pineapple, sweet and juicy citrus, mango, and melon, sweet malts, funk, bread, and something like a copper note late. Light-bodied, with fairly low carbonation and a funky, juicy, somewhat metallic mouthfeel. Iím not sure Iíd be able to identify this as a "rye ale with Brettanomyces," but itís a decent sour ale.

Very muddy reddish brown, corona of white head. Tasty aroma of sour apples and cherries, funky. Lively carbonation, pert viscous mouthfeel and finishes crisp. Taste of tart sour juicy apple, nutty malts, raspberry, pert rye. Very crisp and delicious.

Sampler Flight pour on tap at Eccentric Cafe (Kalamazoo, MI). Pours a murky amber orange hue, darker body is dulled, a lucid glow hits the edges and bottom. Frothy offwhite head atop stays as a mellow frothy film, decent ring sticks and laces small. Aromas are a bit fruity, citrus and pineapple meet touches of funk, cobwebs and bready malts. Gentle citrusy grapefruit, pineapple and touches of rye malt, bread and gentle biscuit. Initial is a bit fruity, pineapple and touches of fruity ester. Touches of cobwebs, gentle melon and bready malts. Muted carbonation hits gently with some more bretty life, emphasizing more fruit and pineapple, gentle touches of bread. Backend shows some more funk like elements, dryness and a bit earthy. Touches of rye, faint toastiness with mellow tropical fruit, pineapple and earth as we taper out. Dry, a bit bretty and spicy as we finish. It runs the gambit with that richer fruity brett nose, better balance and funk into the backend. Not the prettiest pour but the flavors and beer work well, pretty legit stuff with a more complex brett angle that I think works quite well. Nice stuff.
