Draft at Taps 25, Lansing. Hazy medium orange-brown body, thin ring of off-white carbonation. Nose spicy, reminiscent of a Belgian Tripel but drier and biscuity. Body a tad funky, spicy, with wet grass, hay, and floral elements playing off white wine notes. Lots of green apple and cloves as the beer warms. Reminds me of something Unibroue would brew.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a good amount of flora and sweet grass with a bit of funk/Belgian yeast. Flavor starts with sweet grass, flora and a bit of sweet fruit with a Belgian yeast note in the finish.

On tap at Ashley’s Ann Arbor. Light amber pour with a small white head. Dry, slightly funky brett aroma with apple and caramel hints. Dry brett flavor, very slight tartness and apple flavor. Straightforward and quite nice.

On tap: The aroma consists of light sweet citrus, sweet tarts, floral notes, and a hint of lemon. It’s a transparent amber with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus with a hint of sweet tarts. The finish is light-moderately floral with a just a touch of lemon. It’s light-medium bodied with light carbonation. Overall, it’s reminds me of a sweeter version of Orval.

GABF. Pours a bit hazy golden appearance with a white head. Somewhat bretty, pineapple, spicy yeasty aroma. Somewhat bubbly, spicy yeasty, mango, orange citrusy, mild bretty flavor. Pretty tasty.

Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Funky spicy pineapple scent, similar taste, bit of cinnamon.

Sampled on 10/11/12 at GABF. This Belgian Ale pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of yeast and a little dry. A medium bodied Belgian Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy. Decent carbonation. A touch of brett at the finish. Crisp and clean. Interesting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A good stronger beer with brett. It is spicy but sweet, some fruits, but the brett seems pretty noticeable.

On tap at Bell’s. Really nice Brett notes with some leather and faint cherry. Earthy and dry. Touch of cardboard as it warms. Restrained funk.

Sampler at Bell’s. Pours a cloudy amber-brown with hardly any head even on a swirl. Nose involved some light citrus, some dust, and some caramel. Taste is quite sweet, with a touch of bitter and the lightest pucker factor on the end. Palate is medium-bodied, tingly, with a lengthy finish. I like it. The board said it had some brett involved, and you got some of that character but more in a complimentary role. Nice beer.
