On tap: The aroma consists of light sweet citrus, sweet tarts, floral notes, and a hint of lemon. Itís a transparent amber with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus with a hint of sweet tarts. The finish is light-moderately floral with a just a touch of lemon. Itís light-medium bodied with light carbonation. Overall, itís reminds me of a sweeter version of Orval.

GABF. Pours a bit hazy golden appearance with a white head. Somewhat bretty, pineapple, spicy yeasty aroma. Somewhat bubbly, spicy yeasty, mango, orange citrusy, mild bretty flavor. Pretty tasty.

Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Funky spicy pineapple scent, similar taste, bit of cinnamon.

Sampled on 10/11/12 at GABF. This Belgian Ale pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of yeast and a little dry. A medium bodied Belgian Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy. Decent carbonation. A touch of brett at the finish. Crisp and clean. Interesting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A good stronger beer with brett. It is spicy but sweet, some fruits, but the brett seems pretty noticeable.

On tap at Bellís. Really nice Brett notes with some leather and faint cherry. Earthy and dry. Touch of cardboard as it warms. Restrained funk.

Sampler at Bellís. Pours a cloudy amber-brown with hardly any head even on a swirl. Nose involved some light citrus, some dust, and some caramel. Taste is quite sweet, with a touch of bitter and the lightest pucker factor on the end. Palate is medium-bodied, tingly, with a lengthy finish. I like it. The board said it had some brett involved, and you got some of that character but more in a complimentary role. Nice beer.

Draft to pint at Eccentric Cafe. This is listed on the board as 6.8%. Looks decent; a cloudy Brown with thin white lacing. Smells solid; funky and spicy. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Decent, but not special.

Horse blanket sour aroma. Dark gold in color with excellent head. Smooth and sweet, malt dominated. The brett is subtle, mostly present in the aroma.

Sampled at the 2009 GABF. Cool concept, needs a little more refinement. While this beer certainly has a lot going on in terms of the complex aroma and flavor profiles, the construction of those profiles is somewhat off. I think that a beer such as this could benefit from extended barrel aging and possible blending with other editions. Being that this is most likely an experimental batch that isnít likely to happen. Iím happy to try it nonetheless.
