COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A remarkably drinkable Double IPA that pays tribute to one of Mother Nature’s finest creations, as several hop varietals combine for massive aromas of tropical fruit, citrus and pine. A mild caramel malt character and dry finish provide balance.

Bottle from kind soul at Beer Bloggers Conference 2016. Pours an orange copper with a white head. Nose is piney with some tropical fruit and citrus. Flavor is a nice bit of citrus with caramel malt and some pine and fruit. Medium in body and lingering malt and citrus into the finish.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Beer Nerd tulip glass From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif. Price: $2.39 Purchased: July 15, 2016 Consumed: July 16, 2016 Reviewed as: American Double/Imperial IPA Misc.: Bottled on June 6, 2016 at 5:54 p.m. ET Saw this one at Barons about a week ago and wasn’t crazy about the $13.99 price for a 4-pack (I think it was a 4-pack). But saw a single bottle the next time and picked it up for $2.39. Excited to try this one as Bell’s is one of my favorite breweries (just out of the top 10 - min. 10 reviews). Poured a copper, amber, murky color with 4-to-5 fingers of off-white rocky head. Some bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent layered foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled a bunch of sweet hops up front, but can’t specifically call out any in particular, maybe Amarillo and Citra? Lots of other flavors, tropical, pine and citrus, all in juicy form. Also floral aromas, mango, sugary caramel and maybe a touch of pineapple. First whiff was the best, but then tapers off. (Smell - 4.00) Tasted slightly better than the nose, picking out Amarillo, Citra and I think Simcoe. Bitter pine, tropical, citrus, mango, hints of dried red grapefruit, blood orange rind, mango, sweet caramel, floral hops, non-pulp orange juice (that first sip right out of a carton), pineapple and hints of honey. Kind of boozy, but not quite 8 percent boozy. (Taste - 4.00) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00) This was a pretty good DIPA, although I might be overrating it just a tad. (Overall - 4.00) 4.02 90 A-

Bottle. Pours mostly clear dark amber. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, caramel and biscuit malt, and some faint apple notes. Flavor is rich hoppy bitterness with some grassy and piney notes, light malt sweetness, and some soft fruit character. Medium body.

glennmastrange (2620) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy spruce and orange peel for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with dried cherry and pineapple in the background. Head is average sized, frothy, white with good but thin lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is light orangey amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a soft to lively carbonation. Well, it’s no Hopslam (I had 2 yesterday), but it is a damn good DIPA.

Thanks Carl! Nice drinkable DIPA. Amber pour. Resinous, citrus, some pine, a good bite in the finish, ABV masked well. Nothing amazingly out of the ordinary. Just done super well.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a fairly clear amber with white head. Aroma is citrus and some pine. Taste is a nice well balanced easy drinking IPA. Nice bitter flavor of orange, pineapple, grapefruit, caramel, pine resin. Very well done imperial IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to glass mug. Pours a cloudy copper / yellow with a sparse tan head. Super strong aroma of pineapple and citrus. Great body and dank hop flavors. Not too boozy. Perfect DIPA

Bottle: Hazed, amber with a thick, light tan head. Caramel, creamy pineapple, pine aroma. Taste is sweet, tropical, caramel malt. Creamy, smooth, and very easy-going. Light piney bitter. Very good stuff.

Draft. Nose is piney with light citrus. Honey malt and light caramel. Hazy deep yellow to orange with a small white head. Taste is initially orange pith bitter that quickly faded to a marmalade jam hop flavor with light residual sugar. No significant alcohol presence. Nice but seemingly under hopped for a DIPA. Likd they just used a little more hops than two hearted.
