3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Michigan Brewers Guild in Ypsi. Pours golden with frothy head. Smells of straight bitter hops and pine. Taste is hoppy and bitter, but one dimensional. Not impressed with this one. Only okay. Two Bell's disappointments at the beer fest with this and Black Note. Maybe they tapped bad kegs?

Pours a translucent golden amber on tap with a fluffy, dissipating, cream colored head and moderate lacing. Aroma of fresh hops in your face, citrusy greatness. Taste is more mild, malts come through more, clean, bitter finish. Awesome, simply awesome!

This beer is excellent. I prefer it, in many ways, to the Hopslam. Both have a decent backbone in malted sweetness, but Hopsolution outdoes itself to compliment the harshness of the pine and grapefruit hops rather than simply balance the beer like the Hopslam. Tried with Dave and Breanna at the Hopleaf in Chicago, Aug. 2012.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at The Oak Cafe. Pours an amber color with a thick foamy white head that lingers a very long time. Aroma is cream, caramel, and light fruit. Taste is very creamy and thick. Light caramel and fruit flavors along with some floral notes. Light sweetness and moderate bitterness. Overall, its just ok. Too creamy and not enough flavor to truly enjoy. Still, itís very smooth and easy to drink for a DIPA.

A-- Poured a darker hazy orange color. One finger off white head that faded slowly. no lacing and little carbonated.
S-- Candied orange and candied lemon peel. Just a bit of Carmel backbone to this.
T-- Carmel, orange, lemon zing and some grapefruit.
M-- Prickly on the tongue. Reminds me more of a sweet tart. Medium carbonation and a little. Hops really pick up in the mouth. More of a grapefruit carmel finish that is earthy.
T-- Like a lot of this but just not as big a citrus as Western US IPAís are. Not as crisp and earthy is OK. Would try this again as ticks a lot of boxes.

Clear gold orange pour. White head an eighth of an inch thick, small amount of lacing. Amazing citrus and floral scent, strong. Sweet flavor initially, turns to strong strong hop flavor thatís floral as well as citrus, great hop-forward taste. Finish is more of the same with a slightly dry taste.

Draft to pint at Eccentric Cafe. Looks decent; copper with sticky white lacing. Smells solid; floral hops. Tastes good; like it smells, only better, and with nice balance. Pleasant on the palate. A nice lighter DIPA from Bellís.

03-JUN-2012, bottle @PapsÝ tasting.
Hazy orange with low tan head.
Malty fruity, dried fruits, oranges.
What type of brew is this? Not really an IIPA? Almost a barley wine. Very fine ale.
