3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
One tap at University Roadhouse. Clear copper brew with off white head and good head retetnion. Good aroma with a bit of citrus and floral hops. Taste is... eak. Not much malt to speak of, which can be OK but the hops are rather lacking too. A little citrus, very little resin, shot dry and nondescript finish... Rather bland. More like a Portage IPA than a Kalamazoo IPA.

Easy drinking and thirst quenching ipa here. Plenty of citrus and fruit notes, malty but not in a bad way.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Brownish orange pour with a thin mist of white head. Sweet citrus hop aroma thatís really light. Taste is very similar to hopsolution. Juicy grapefruit, peachy hop flavor with some burton salt flavor on finish. Lighter than two hearted. Fairly low carbonation, slightly dry finish. Good light IPA that has some juicy hop qualities instead of just being bitter.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On-tap at the Cafe, drank from a pint glass...Pours a very clear light copper. An off white head, good retention and lacing. Looks good if not for the body being a touch light...The aroma is dead, a little citrus but thatís its, disappointing... The taste is terrible, light toffee with stale hops. Had this right after the IRA, not even in the same galaxy. This is bad and needs to be passed on.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at bells. Huge citrus aroma, grapefruit, mango and caramel. Pour deep orange color. Taste mango, tropical fruit, citrusy, piney, resiny hops, caramel a little sweet. Medium body fine carb. Quite good easy to drink I like Two Hearted better tho.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Eccentric Cafe. Pours a clear orange brown with a small white head. Aroma of piney hops, citrus, and caramel malt. Flavor of caramel (tons of crystal malt), bitter hops, and piney and grassy hops. Just ok -- I wasnít particularly a fan of the hop character and the malt base was pretty weak as well. Overall, a disappointing IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2010 On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Bright golden brown body, thin off-white head. Citrusy, bitter nose, similar to Two-Hearted Ale. The body is quite a bit less sweet than Two-Hearted Ale, with piny hops resins and dryish biscuity malts. Resinous and a bit rough.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Eccentic Cafe. Pretty much a slightly less robust Two-Hearted. like the brewers were trying to make it more summer-friendly. light pine hopping, got to get the schnoz right on top of the beer to pull out the caramel malt, flavor is lighter and friendly hopping, a little surprising for Bells more ballsy style, certainly refreshing and as always a quality brew. Maybe for those first venturing into the IPA style

Sampled at The Big Pour beerfest in Scottsdale AZ. I donít recall that "Kalamazoo" was listed in the name, but seeing as there is no other Bellís IPA listed, then this must be the one! Resinous hoppy aroma, some citrus. Slightly grainy palate, a little thin on the malt end, but big resinous hoppy bitterness and citrus-peel fruit. Tasty, but Parksy and I both preferred the locally brewed 4 Peaks IPA.
