Nov 13, 2009 Dark brown-black with a beige-brownish lasting and ceamy head. Aromas of rosted nuts and chocolate. Full body with masses of flavors, crisp CO2 attack than chocolate, roasted malt, licorice and a long roasty finish. I sampled this one too cold, but I suspect it is amazing as it warms up. Very nice stout.

Nov 13, 2009 Solid, dark pour topped by an ample creamy head. Aroma is roasted caramel and chocolate malts with hints of spice. Flavor is the same, and brings forth hints of dark fruit along with notes of allspice. Mouthfeel is fantastically creamy and smooth. Almost (but not quite) ’too big for its britches’ to be in the standard stout category. This is amazing, and seems to be my favorite regular stout so far. Can’t seem to go wrong with a Bells stout.

Nov 8, 2009 Nice black pour with a creamy head. The roasted malts give off a rich smooth chocolate coffee flavor. The hops are present in the background but does not steal the show.

Nov 7, 2009 This stout poured a deep black colour with a nice big, dark brown head. Nice lacing too. To the nose there are scents of roasted coffee, caramel, cocoa and molassass. First sip was rich and smooth with a velvet mouthfeel. Flavours of coffee with a little chocolate and hopps. Finish is creamy and very roasted with a little hopp flavour. Palate has a nice mild coffee flavour that lasts and lasts....One of the best stouts I’ve ever had.

Nov 5, 2009 Poured thick black with tan head, smelled of dark coffee and smoky undertones. A very woody, roasted stout with coffee and sweet malt after. Excellent beer!

Nov 4, 2009 Batch 9016. Pours a rich dark black with just a dusting of light brown sugar head that very quickly dissipates. Aroma is fully of coffee, dark chocolate and anise. Wow, the first taste is a carnival of caramel, coffee, anise, dark fruits, and more. This type of flavor is normally reserved for the imperial stouts, but this little guy makes up for in flavor what he lacks in booze. The dryness is just right, and well balanced by the creamy, full mouthfeel. A supreme treat. I miss K-zoo.

Nov 3, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with a particularly thin dark brown/chocolate head. Aroma has sweet coffee notes with a bit of caramel underneath. Flavor has strong coffee notes, but chocolate and caramel undertones balance it out nicely. Quite thick on the tongue.
