Pours to a small, dark tan head. Creamy, moderately thick body. Wonderful blend of nuts, coffee, and caramel. Absolutely delicious! guzzler67 (1277), Hanover, Maryland, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 29, 2009 Pours an opaque black with a good bit of light brown-tan head and an aroma of matled chocolate.
Flavor starts as dark-roasted coffee and finishes chocolatey with a hint of the licorice mentioned on the label.
Mouthfeel is smooth, not slick at all. Alcohol content is low and well-hidden. It may be blasphemy, but I think this is a better beer than Expedition Stout! zizzybalubba (358), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 28, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet (Batch 8927, bottled January 8, 2009). Black pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Wonderful flavor of bittersweet chocolate and dark roasted coffee. Very sessionable at only 6% alcohol. This has a lot of flavor for a non-imperial stout; hard to imagine finding a stout that is much better. Slipstream (746), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Another Bell’s brew, courtesy of my Philly kinfolk. This label has a drawing of an old guy on it, and he has me wondering if this could be up to the level of their supreme Expedition Stout. Dark pour and noisy tan head. Aroma of coffee grounds and yeast. This is a dry, hoppy stout that is medium bodied and flavorful. A fine brew that may not be worthy of an expedition, but is well worth drinking if you see it. blklab2007 (955), Connecticut, USA
