Commercial Description:
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

Tap at Eccentric Cafe - Pours jet black with a quickly dissapating tan, frothy head. Smells nutty, with roasted barley and malt. Tastes roasty, smoky, nutty, and a bit of sausage in the background. Not the heavy mouthfeel I like in a stout, but pretty good overall.

Must re-rate. I don’t know if I had a bad bottle last time, was too drunk, or just pissed off! Who knows? This time I must say the beer looks great. Nice chocolate head, but not that viscous pour I was hoping for. Nice coffe and chocolate aroma, and it becomes even more pungent as the beer warms. Not extremely pungent, but good enough. Nice sweet coffe and chocolate taste with a slight bittering finish. Nice roast touch that is awesome as well. Creamy texture, but on the verge of only giving this a 3 but it wouldn’t have made a huge impact on the score. Overall, nice offering from Bells, that I frigged up on rating the first time.

Aroma was full of chocolate, coffee and molasses. Appearance was black as night with a nice creamy head. Flavor was malty for an American brew, with chocolate, caramel and molasses, as hinted in the aroma. Palate was creamy, a nice medium bodied brew. A very good stout.

BOTTLE: nice black pour, brownish head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast/coffee. Pretty big complex flavor in this one - coffee, dark chocolate, malt, roast, and maybe a little sweetness.

Poured deep black with a brown medium head. Big chocolate and malt aroma. Rich flavor of chocolate and caramel, turning to roast and hop. Goes down smooth.

Bottle. Pours almost black with a small medium brown head. Aroma is subtle dark chocolate and coffee. Flavor is very robust, consisting of chocolate, coffee, roast malt, and a slight sweetness. Excellent beer.
