4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2004 I found this one at Gomers and I just couldnít resist. Iíve really began to develop a sweet tooth for stouts. Iíve had some very very good ones of late. Iím sure that has something to do with this. Freaking Awesome beer!!! Definitely changes my mind on Bells. Oberon I thought was bad. Cherry Stout was ok, but its a stout not a fruit beer. Kalamazoo is terrific. Restores my faith in this breweries ability to produce great beer. Chocolately, roasty, smooth, creamy, Iím enamoured once again with Bellís. If I had this one before Oberon, I would have said like many it has to be a bad bottle. Nothing bad about this one. Scores very high marks with me

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very good stout. Malty chocolate aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet, very malty, hints of chocolate and carmel, just a hint of raspberry and a touch of hoppy bitterness. Very smooth and delicious.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 13, 2005 Pours a very dark born, almost black with a small head of butterscotch. Flavor is a burnt, dry coffee start that develops into a choclate, malt, very smooth taste, very evenly balanced.
What a stout...

Pours very dark soda-brown with a foamy tan head. A bit dry tasting at first. Chocolate expresso aroma and flavor that feels a little oily going down. Very good stout.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2005 Pours very dark brown with dark tan head. Looks and smells very good. Roasty, coffee, carmel aroma. Malty, roasty tastes dominate. Some coffee flavor, and a hint of sweetness, and creamy, bitterness in the finish. This is a damn good stout. A definate top 10 in my book.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer definitly has a coffee aroma but not the freeze dried garbage but some fancy coffee that I never actually drank. Pours with little head. First sip goes down easy but leaves a little bit of bitterness. Complex flavors: you can come up with the adjectives but its good stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Completely opaque black body topped by a large creamy tan head. Quite the sight. Roasted choco-coffe aroma, not too sweet as some of this style tend to be. The flavor is sweet malt up front that is then quickly replaced by a good amount of roasted bitterness. The coffe flavors linger while the choclate flavors are muchmore short lived. The bosy is silky smooth and fairly large. The body is almost slimy but aviods being unpleasant. Overall a great effort from a great brewer. Thaks to both BB63 and Indra for sending bottles my way.
