COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2005 this beer embodies all that i find right and good in a stout. sweet-smelling malty goodness in the nose, slightly roasty. milk and sugar complement a lightly bitter, barely noticeable hops presence. deep black with a smallish tan head sticking to all sides of the glass. extremely smooth, creamy body that is supported by a solid malt backbone that finishes up with a pleasantly roasty aftertaste. body feels syrupy, coats your mouth like a medicine you actually want to take. great stout! worlds better than the double cream stout.

This is a big body hearty stout. It pours deep dark black with a nice little burnt brown head. The flavor is like a normal stout but there is an "imperial" quality to it. I think it is more of a cross between a normal stout and an Imperial. It's not "hoppy" like an imperial, but it's not un-hoppy! I really like this stout. It's not a huge smack in the face like a the Bells expedition stout or an Old Rasputin. It's just a damn good stout! Get a six pack!

Deep black with tan head. Roast coffee/malt aroma. Roast malt flavors without smokiness/burnt flavors. Some bitterness, some dark fruits. Great stout.

12 oz bottle, tulip glass. Roasted grain, milk chocolate, mild coffee malt (M); butterscotch and light nutmeg aromas. Tall, creamy, tan head is slowly diminishing and sits on a deep, nearly opaque black body. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavor becomes a lightly bitter, roasty finish and rolls into a warm, mild coffee aftertaste. Medium-heavy body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: this is a stout’s stout.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2005 Black body with a ruddy sheen and thick but tight brown head. Great roasty aroma of chocolate, sweetened coffee and chestnuts. Makes me drool. Very nice roasty flavor as well without any burnt elements or astringency. Very full body. I think this beer is bigger than Sam Smith’s Imperial Stout, showing how far stout styles have skewed. Excellent stuff.

Bottle pours black with an average brown head.   Aroma is of sweet malt and coffee.   Initial taste is of deeply roasted malt, some nuts, and a bit of unsweetened chocolate.   Mouthfeel is creamy.   Finish has some minor bitterness but then turns into a minor sweetness.   Very well balanced.   Overall, an enjoyable Sweet Stout.   Thanks goes out to ClarkVV for the trade!

Black in color with a big bubbles brown head. Smells of roasted coffee. The flavor is smooth with a background of mocha. Similar to the Double Cream Stout, which I prefer more than this. Overall a great beer.

Almost black body with tan head. Strong nose of coffee. Coffee and semi-sweet chocolate in the taste.

BLACK in appearance. BLACK, I say. Small brown head. Looks luscious. VERY faint odor of coffee. OK-- now this is my third Bell's of the night and what they REALLY lack is smell. There's nothing strong or defined here. But then again, smell does not make a beer. THICK in body, coffee in flavor. EXCELLENT in the mouth. Lotsa carbonation- much better than their Double Cream Stout offering in that sense. NICE beer. Drink it, drink it now!
