Commercial Description:
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, with a thin brown head that settles quickly. Nose is quite roasty - bit of acidity, sharp, slightly smokey. Flavor is quite roasty, lightly acidic, but in now way harsh. Hints of bitter cocoa peek through, but not very prominently. Some sharp deeply roasted coffee, leading to a dry, but very smooth, roasty finish. This beer has a superbly polished quality about it - whatever you think of the flavors, not a hair is out of place. Mouthfeel is smooth, medium-full body, with a higher than expected level of carbonation.

Pitch black pour with smokey coffee and bitter chocolate aroma. Incredibly drinkable for a big stout. Flavors of sweet chocolate and hops dominate this beer with a bitter coffee finish. So smooth and creamy on the palate if you drink this beer warm. I love you Bells Brewery.

330 mL bottle. Pours jet black with a modest, very dark tan head. Great lacing on this one! Nose is- I’m not kidding- green olives, salt, pimento. Taste is still a little salty with the addition of typical stout/porter tastes: espresso, dark chocolate, burnt sugar, roasted and caramel malts. Creamy on the palate albeit a bit watery. Aftertaste is long with lots of dark chocolate. This would be killer with oysters or shrimp. Overall excellent and much more drinkable than the Expedition Stout.

A Mes rate: bottle at the Harry vs Wolfman fist fight.
Solid black with a good tan head. Big rich malt, some cereal and a tonne of U.S. chocolate in the aroma. Similar flavour just a little better. Not sure about the grainy feel. Kinda like a Expedition light if you will. A good stout, not amazing.

Pours dark with a thick brown head and a coffee aroma. Has a rich and creamy mouth feel with a smooth malty taste and a slight hint of chocolate. Nothing to complain about, a delicious stout.

Pours an intimidating oily black. Aroma is tons of burnt sugar and coffee, dark chocolates, light milk, and dark fruits. Flavor is rich chocolate and espresso, nice and malty, with a comfortable bitterness that makes this more of a drinkable stout than its wicked counterpart -- Expedition. Solid in every way.

Bottle from batch 8555. Pours solid black with hints of umber around the edges with a finger and a half of mocha head and beautiful lacing. Bouquet of licorice, molasses, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, black cherry, and a strong aroma of sweet roasted malts. Flavor is sweet licorice, caramel malts, bittersweet chocolate, and roast coffee. The palate is soft and smooth, the carbonation isn’t cloying or obtrusive, and the finish is a mellow bitterness that pleasantly lingers on the back of your tongue.
