branspra (204), Arlington, Virginia, USA Sep 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours with a small head, clear body, and black color. Hints of molasses, roasted toffee, flowers, and port. Full body with a sticky texture and lively palate. Long flavor leading to an absolutely fantastic beer. bretupdegraff (172), Fishers, Indiana, USA Sep 9, 2008 Great find- dark black pour - head that wouldn’t settle - nice lacing- taste is smooth stout. flavor comes out more as it warms... this is a very drinkable brew that fits well into my taste. Nice balance of coffee/roast - I think I prefer the Imperials but this is very good.
Cheers Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2008 Updated: Sep 9, 2008This was very good and creamy. Love that it’s only 6%. Just goes to show ya not everything has to be Imperial to be very good. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA Sep 7, 2008 pour is dark black with one finger an head. aroma is that of strong gas station coffee. taste is a lot of coffee and chocolate, some toffee and caramel. very good drinkable stout. Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 6, 2008 A dark dark stout with a thin moka head, and big chunks at the bottom. A nice bitter chocolate malt, cream, light hops, figs, and dried fruits. In mouth, a good moka chocolate, cold coffee, roasted bitterness, a bit of burned notes. A good pleasing stout. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle; batch 7648. Pours black with a creamy tan head that settles to a light layer & ring and left behind good lacing. Aromas of milk chocolate, coffee, and a slight roast. The flavor is much the same but with the roast standing out much more. Full body, smooth, and a coffee and roast aftertaste. Very nice Stout!! mcmd (132), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a half finger beige head. Smells are roasted malt, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel. Flavor is sweet roasted malt and hops up front with a burnt coffee and bitter dark chocolate finish. Seemed a little thin for a stout, almost the consistency of a porter. Great beer nonetheless. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottle aquired in trade from StFun. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt flavor with a hint of coffee. Smooth and even on the palate. Just a tad thin or I would have thought it was an imperial stout. An overall great brew.
