BeerBunker (601), Burbank, Illinois, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pours black with a a lot of tan head. Aroma is a smoky mix of chocolate, coffee, and malts. Flavor tastes strongly of the roasted malts with hints of the coffee coming through. The warmer it gets, the more the coffee is evident. Extremely drinkable. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pours an opache black with a small tannish head. Aroma is sweet chocolate and coffee. Maybe just a hint of dark fruit buried underneath all of the dark malt. Flavor is really more of the same although the fruit shines through a bit more. Finishes somewhat short and cocoa bitter. Medium bodied, very smooth texture. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 4, 2008 Bells in Chicago, it was a happy weekend. This is obviously a very well done stout, I think it just isnt made in the way I like it. It carried a very smokey flavor that I have never liked in any beer. Other than that it is great with the normal stout descriptions without getting so heavy it becomes are to drink. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Aug 4, 2008 From a bottle poured black with a fair amount of head. Nice tiasted malt flavor with a lingering finish.
