Commercial Description:
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

Aroma – Huge Stout aroma, chocolate, coffee and light licorice.
Appearance – Dark Black in color, Nice light head and clear if you can see through black.
Flavor – One of the best Stouts I have ever had. Huge flavor and just crisp and filled with so many flavors. Coffee, chocolate where huge in this beer.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, Awesome texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – Loved the flavors. Just a precise beer to drink the flavors where so perfect. Great Great Beer….

Pours very dark brown with very little light brown head. Amazing aroma of sweet chocolate, caramel, lightly roasted oats and malts, and espresso! Taste is equally impressive. lightly sweet chocolate balanced by slightly roasted, dry coffee. The earthy sweetness lingers for a long time very pleasingly. Flavor palate is as full as the body, and very very smooth.

Bottle. Expedition’s little brother, this one. Very tasted. Roasty barley, chocolate, marshmallow on the nose. Smooth sweetness and not over the top. Perhaps the best American session stout out there. Sol-id.

I’m glad I’m finally getting to try the upper echelon beers. Pours a dark, almost coffee like consistency with a deep caramel colored head. The aroma is of molasses and caramel and cocoa. The flavor is very full and has hints of coffee and caramel with a little bit of a smokey flavor. Absolutely phenomenal beer.

I like this slightly better than Expedition Stout because it goes down a little smoother and flavor is easier on the palate.

Bottle, Bell’s brewery never lets me down. Large rocky head with excellent lacing. Extremely dark brown/black color. Aroma of molasses mixed with toasted coffee. Full bodied with a creamy texture. Average carbonation with a moderately sweet flavor that in a lightly bitter finish. The warmer it gets toward the end the better it tastes. An excellent brew from an excellent brewery.

Well, leave it to Bell’s to make stout my 2nd favorite style. This is actually the third stout in a row that I have purchased. The first two were Expediton stout from Bell’s, and a few nights ago i tried the poet from New Holland, and Kalamazoo stout is right in the middle. I loved everything about this beer.

ABV: 6 % RateBeer rating: 99 Calories: estimated at 160 C Volume: 12 fl oz. Glass: pint Purchased at: Issac Newton’s, Newtown, PA Price: $4.50 Consumed at: home First Impression: A very impressive presence - a nice aroma, good head and rich flavor. Aroma is bitter, coffee, and roasty. Visuals are an inky black body topped with a tan head that is persistent and lacy. Taste is thick with espresso notes, licorice, and pepper. Palate is perhaps its downfall - a bit weak, with a medium finish. Second Impression - not anything close to a Yeti or a Shakespeare, but not a bad stout - far surpasses a Guinness. But for $4.50 a 12 oz bottle, I’d much rather have the Yeti. Aroma: 8 out of 10 Visuals: 5 out of 5 Taste: 10 out of 10 Palate: 3 out of 5 Overall: 16 out of 20
