santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 9, 2008 Smells like Hershey syrup. Big chocolate and coffee notes with some malted milk. A dark black body sits beneath a rich beige head that dies down to a thin collar. The taste is roasty and bitter, with chocolate, molasses, espresso, and sweet, milky notes. A really good and drinkable stout for sure. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Jun 7, 2008 Lovely, fantastic, wonderful. Not saying it’s the best stout I’ve ever had, but there are no complaints. Full, not a bitter finish, and an awesome mouthfeel. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 7, 2008 Dark brown with very slowly dissipating tan frothy head that leaves a trail of lace on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, coffee and smoke. Smooth and creamy medium bodied beer tastes of both sweet and roasted malts with some licorice and coffee notes to it. Another solid Bells offering. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 6, 2008 Wicked tastey brew, creamy, chocolatey with vanilla notes, nice touch of oak. Pours deep black with a large vanilla coloured head. Wonderfully smooth, i love the roasted nutty aroma that lingers throughout the whole beer. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Jun 4, 2008 Aroma is coffee, malts and smoke. Pours black with minmal tan head. Very well hopped for a stout - which I like. Very smooth, very creamy, goes EXCELLENT with chocolate. davidoc (113), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 3, 2008 Poured black from the bottle with a moderate beige head. Heavy chocolate taste, slightly malty. Outstanding semi-sweet aftertaste. CaptBier (301), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jun 3, 2008 Bottle. A pitch black beer with no head. The aroma is of coffee and bitter chocolate - lovely. The flavor is sweet and yet bitter from coffee notes and bitter chocolate notes combined with hints of smoke. DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 2, 2008 I ’ve wanted to rate this beer for awhile, just never got around to it. Wonderfull coffee like roasted flavor, with a creamy back end. That’s all I could muster up.
