Feb 26, 2008 Pours oil thick and black with a dark brown head that thins out quickly, but is present throughout the drink. The aroma is thick and chewy with very roasty notes, coffee, and dark chocolate. The flavor is very similar to the aroma, but the body helps contribute to the overall experience, making it quite pleasurable. The oiliness of the appearance comes right through in the mouthfeel and makes it silky smooth. very nice. Wish I could get this locally.

Feb 24, 2008 Updated: Jan 8, 2009Very nice offering from Bells! A "lite" version of Expedition Stout, but still very much able to stand on its own. Aroma is nice; chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Very easy drinking! All of the aroma comes through in the flavor, with the addition of roasted malt and barley. Pretty much a simpler form of Expedition, with everything amped down a notch, and no alcohol presence. Somewhat sticky and bitter on the aftertaste. Give it a try.

Feb 23, 2008 33 cl bottle, Fargo. Ink black colour, dark tan creamy head. Intense roasted malt, coffee and chocolate aroma. Velvety in the mouth, very smooth, sweet and warming on the way down. Excellent.

Feb 22, 2008 12oz bottle got through tade with StFun. pours black with minimal tan head, aroma isnt all that strong but filled with roasted malt, flavor of roasted malt and slighty sweet. not bad but i was looking for more in this one.

Feb 20, 2008 Updated: Feb 25, 2008Pours a black body and tan head. The aroma is beautifully roasted malts with plenty of chocolate. The flavor is a kind of bittersweet for a stout with a nice presence of hops. Or at least more than I would normally expect. The mouthfeel is thick enough with an easy finish.

Feb 18, 2008 Another Bell’s beer, another experience. This was like wow, very stong in its character and taste and surprisingly light finish. Very bitter but that doesnt stay in your mouth for long. would definetly buy again!

Feb 17, 2008 I am convinced these folks in Michigan have some sort of pact with Mephistopheles in brewing exceptional beers of all varieties. Every beer tasted sets a new standard in their respective class- this stout is no exception. The deep dark flavors of the roasted malts miraculously finish out to one hell of a refreshing stout. Very drinkable and highly recommended.
