Feb 22, 2008 12oz bottle got through tade with StFun. pours black with minimal tan head, aroma isnt all that strong but filled with roasted malt, flavor of roasted malt and slighty sweet. not bad but i was looking for more in this one.

Feb 20, 2008 Updated: Feb 25, 2008Pours a black body and tan head. The aroma is beautifully roasted malts with plenty of chocolate. The flavor is a kind of bittersweet for a stout with a nice presence of hops. Or at least more than I would normally expect. The mouthfeel is thick enough with an easy finish.

Feb 18, 2008 Another Bell’s beer, another experience. This was like wow, very stong in its character and taste and surprisingly light finish. Very bitter but that doesnt stay in your mouth for long. would definetly buy again!

does not count  Feb 17, 2008 I am convinced these folks in Michigan have some sort of pact with Mephistopheles in brewing exceptional beers of all varieties. Every beer tasted sets a new standard in their respective class- this stout is no exception. The deep dark flavors of the roasted malts miraculously finish out to one hell of a refreshing stout. Very drinkable and highly recommended.

Feb 16, 2008 This is like Expedition’s little brother. Not as much kick on the alcohol and not as thick. However it is a very smooth beer and is highly drinkable. I could put a few of these back in one sitting, but probably could only have one expedition.

Feb 13, 2008 Draft at Brixx. Dark, near-black color with a medium tan head. Smells nice and roasty and tastes much the same. A lot of roasted nuts and other burnt flavors. Not incredibly complex, but it’s not supposed to be and it’s perfectly balanced. Finishes completely cleanly and is even somewhat thirst-quenching...odd for a beer this heavy. I loved it.

Feb 12, 2008 Bottled. Inviting black pour with a light, fizzy beige head into a pint glass. Sweet caramel notes, faint licorice and roasted woods are in the aroma. Great flavor for a smaller stout, Some fruits mixed in with a hefty dark chocolate base and some coffee with vanilla cream. Long and roasty black malt finish with a good dose of bitterness. Sure as hell beats Guinness, I could drink this stuff all night.
