Aroma of chocolate dominates the maltiness. Flavor is balanced between the bitter chocolate, mild malts, and a hint of sweet creaminess. Tons of lacing, no noted carbonation, and light on alcohol. Medium to full body. Drinkable and great for when you want a big tasting beer without the imperial alcohol. SuzyGreenberg (1324), Seattle, Washington, USA

Its not an imperial , dry, or sweet stout. Its just a stout. Well balanced with a good amount of flavor for a 6% brew. Drink all night with no regrets. Fine Bell’s product. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 26, 2008 April 2006 - This was one fine beer...and I have 5 left (tempting me to hoard them all for myself). Beer poured dark, dark brown, with a very small head and almost no lacing. Highlights of red came through on the bottom and edges of my pint glass when held right up to the light. Initially, the flavor was all roasty with some coffee, but got immensely better as it warmed (don’t go too fast!). Lactic tones came out making me think this should be touted as the best milk stout in the world. Perfect creaminess and hop balance. Freaking tasty! DWestrick (237), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
