3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 AirForceHops (1922) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 19, 201212 oz bottle from a trade with friends Sean and Amber. English pint shows a deep black color. Thin tan head not much in the way retention. Taste is burnt chocolate malt along with caramel and some coffee. On the backend of the sip a bit of lactose sweetness comes through. Bitter coffee notes. Medium body and nearly a flat carbonation feel on the tongue. Something tells me that this bottle may have been a touch past its prime. And no date code anywhere on the bottle so, it’s hard to really know. With that being said, I taste what flavors are here and it’s still rather tasty.

A great stout, but it’s the red-headed step child of Bells beers. It will never live up to expectations.

Roasted coffee bean smell, almost like a burnt/smokey smell, woodsy taste, typical stout apperance, great aftertaste that slight bitter/chocolate/coffee taste left on you palate is great. All in all, wasn’t as good as it’s all hyped up to be.
