3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle from a trade with friends Sean and Amber. English pint shows a deep black color. Thin tan head not much in the way retention. Taste is burnt chocolate malt along with caramel and some coffee. On the backend of the sip a bit of lactose sweetness comes through. Bitter coffee notes. Medium body and nearly a flat carbonation feel on the tongue. Something tells me that this bottle may have been a touch past its prime. And no date code anywhere on the bottle so, it’s hard to really know. With that being said, I taste what flavors are here and it’s still rather tasty.

Lots of burnt malt, leather and earth in the smell. Medium body, with notes of milk and coffee in the taste. Great stout!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The bottle says licorice. I can't taste any licorice. Bit of a let down. Otherwise it's a pretty meh stout. I was expecting more.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Taco Mac. Pours near black with a creamy mocha head. Good splotchy lacing. Aroma is roast, cocoa and a bit of licorice. Taste is moderately sweet followed by a fairly dry and mildly bitter finish. Roasted malts and smoky flavors dominate. Creamy mouthfeel with some nice bubbles. Excellent stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Botella. Sigo con mi ruta de cervezas americana, esta vez en el champs de Troy. En este caso toca una stout de Michigan. Negra opaca, espuma marron, aroma a caramelo, chocolate, cafe.. servida un poco fria para mi gusto.

Pours a dark black with light brown head. Has a strong coffee, chocolate, and oaky aroma. The beer is smooth and creamy with a strong coffee, chocolate, dark malt, and liquorish taste. An amazing stout!

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
The licorice adds a nice depth. One of the most gorgeous pours as far as color. One of my favorite stouts

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the world’s best stouts.
Aroma is woody - distinct from many other stouts. The flavor retains the woody/grainy theme. Toasty, roasty, totes ma-goats.
Reminds me of a Romeo y Julieta cigar. This might be the stout to have with a Romeo and Juliet on a warm summer night after the sun goes down.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours deep brown/black with a tan head. Aroma is full of licorice, cherries, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is sweet light malt, chocolate, cream, some licorice. Medium body, but actually pretty light for a stout.. Carbonation is just right. Bitter on the tongue. Really nice
