3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Solid stout, really tasting that brewers licorice as they call it. Not too strong a beer, which is a nice change of pace, getting a nice chocolate flavor from it as well. Goes down smooth....nice

Black color with tan head. Aroma has really nice chocolate, fudge and coffee with some roasted malts on top. Taste follows with chocolate, roasted coffee and dark malts. Body is full and has a really smooth mouthfeel. Overall it’s a really tasty, smooth stout, especially for its ABV.

It’s pretty easy to see why Kalamazoo Stout has become the beer that it has. It pours totally black with a rocky, creamy head. Lots of lacing as the beer level goes down. Coffee, licorice, and charred malt aromas - definitely rich. Chocolate, toasted cream, and bitter, darkened chocolate flavors. This is a thick, hearty brew for sure. Even at the relatively modest 6%, it’s a sipper. Delicious. Gorgeous. Classic.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
355ml bottle from The Perfect Pour. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, hints of toffee. Taste is malt, licorice, toffee, chocolate, with a strong licorice finish. Not really sweet, and only a little bitter, but flavorful nonetheless. Thick and a little sticky, but also smooth. Fantastic.
