This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

Bottle. Poured dark black with a light head. Faint aroma of roasted malt. Very full flavor with a nice effervescence - dark roasted malt with a hint of licorice and a nice bitterness. Creamy feel in the mouth with a nice aftertaste. Great example of a stout.

Pours a very dark brown or black color. Very thick almost clumpy brown head, about two fingers. Good retention, good lacing.

Aroma is medium roasted malts. Smoky, light coffee. Simple, but nice.

Taste is smooth and creamy. Light coffee, some decent roasted malts. Maybe a little licorice. Tasting some light chocolate and caramel. There’s a touch of bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, not as thick and heavy you would think. It is smooth and creamy. It finishes dry..

Overall, it’s a good stout. Its not a great stout. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. I recommend it. Bell’s is new to my area, and I’m eager to try more and more of their stuff. Good stout!

I may have just had the best beer I’ve ever tasted!!! The 4.8 is a perfect score on the chance I ever taste something best! Just an awesome stout, small head, and no bitter aftertaste at all...which I find on most stouts.

Kalamazoo Stout has a medium, beige head, a dark brown appearance, with standard brown on the edges, as light hits it, and moderate lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet brown bread and creamy malt, and the taste is of sweet brown bread, malt, cafe au lait, maybe some background licorice, and low-level bitterness. No char, really. Mouthfeel is low medium, and Kalamazoo Stout finishes medium dry. RJT

It’s a pretty good stout. Simple flavors and licoricey. Medium bitter body with some light sour notes. Finishes surprisingly smooth.

0.355l bottle. Pitch black body, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, leather and some floral hops. Taste of caramel, chocolate, coffee, leather and floral hops. Both the aroma and the taste are very characteristic, based on those I would definitely think this is an imperial stout. Kind of weird that it’s only 6%.

Mörk nästan svart. Lakrits och rostad malt i doft. Smaken är lättare än vad trodde med lite choklad och lakrits. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml bottle. Black, with a thin brown head. Roasted malty aroma with sweet chocolate, coffee and notes of liquorice. The flavour is roasted malty, with liquorice, coffee and chocolate. Lingering, ashy, roasted finish. Tasty and balanced.
