Not sure who the guy on the label is supposed to be, but he should take pride in knowing his mug graces a great beer. garthicus (1356), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Thanks DrHomolka! Thick black, sandy 2 finger head had some dull grey in it, maybe I had licorice on the brain. All I get is black malt on the nose though. Lighter in body than it looks, lots of roast, balanced and sustained, tastes much deeper than only 6% Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

Poured smooth like velvet With a HUGE brown Foamy, frothy head. As it settled, the lacing was left like the mountains and I could not wait. Aroma had plenty of caramel and roasted malts, chocolate and something I can’t place. Oh, smooth, with roasted chocolate malty roasted caramel goodness. THIS IS STOUT BABY! Damn! Wish I had more. Finished dry and the mouth feel was full, like whipped cream. Duane, You ROCK! Thanx again. Yum! Get your paws on this. This was perfect! Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 30, 2004 Updated: Dec 1, 2004This is some deep dark stout. Holding it up to a light...still looks jet black. Dark carmel head. Not much of it, but what there is lingers in a nice lacy ring around the rim. Smooth dark roast and coffee aroma. Hints of port, leather, and cinnamon. Body is wonderfully chewy and mouthfilling, coating the pallette with goodness. Lingering, oh so smooth finish. Flavors of dark roast toffee, carmel, chocolate, coffee, all playing off of each other in careful balance. Complex, wonderful stuff. boto (1352), Granby, Connecticut, USA

There was very little brown head to this one. The aroma is raosted coffee, with some sweetness also. Possible chocolate and caramel. The taste is quite rich. It is silky, sweet, and has roasted coffee, chocolate. Full bodied. Extremely nice! kwoeltje (1337), Manchester, Missouri, USA
