Commercial Description:
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

In Panama, brought down from Cleveland. I paid 1.69 for the bottle. An amazing beer. I’ve only had one stout that I thought was better. Poured incredibly dark with a huge creamy head, the flavors were a medley of chocolate coffee, a slight taste of bitter and a bunch of other flavors wonderfully mixed. A couple of times it seemed a slight bit watery, but the complexity certainly over compensated for that. I wish I had more...I checked my rating for the Jasper stout, this was in fact equally good, if not better...the difference was in the creamy head, but that was likely manipulated by tap vs. bottle. I am going to go ahead and give this one a 4.5!!!!!!! We have a winner!!!!

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, obtained via trade with MullMan. Poured impenetrable brown-black with a thick, foamy, creamy dark brown head - oh yeah. A roasty/smoke malt medley I cannot begin to do justice to, coffee beans, dark chocolate, cream, woodiness, juniper berries, hops - mmmmmm. Taste follows the nose, quite bitter, even more juniper and tart blackberry notes, starts with some chocolate but the coffee and tartness join up with the hop bitterness to make this a decidedly long, smooth but bitter finish. Mouthfeel is extremely creamy, thick in body, slightly lively mouthfeel, and incredibly complex. Where have you been all my life? The best regular stout I’ve ever had.

Black black black. Tan head. Mighty aroma here, only matched by its taste. Lots of molasses and brown sugar, combined with tons of roasted malts. This IS a stout. Taste is much of the same, with the addtion of a solid coffee character and a hint of vanilla. Some hops noted which rounds out a nice complex stout. Great mouthfeel. Big, thick, and chewy. Perfect for any time of the year. Yum Yum.

12z bottle. Opaque hue with great finger width of tan head. Deep chocolate notes in the nose. Also a nice coffee and toffee, slight sugary raisins aroma. Full in the mouth and delicious! Great roasted coffee flavor, with bitter chocolate and a creamy mouthfeel. Mild hop nose and flavor. This is an absolutely wonderful brew! Rich and creamy, sweet and bitter, dark and full! Quite possibly the best brewery in the country.

Poured a nice dark brown/coffee color with a medium light brown frothy head that diminished to almost nothing. Aroma reminded me of molasses with a touch of licorice and roasted malts. First taste, wow, complex; creamy, rich, roasted coffee with some caramel and a slight alcohol taste, had some sweetness yet nicely balanced with the hop bitterness. Continued to improve as I drank and the beer warmed. Excellent brew full bodied and VERY tasty!

Pours a dark dark brown almost black with foamy tan head and alot of lacing, pretty good coverage around the glass. Aroma is very light, a sweet nutty aroma with hints of chocolate. Feels pretty thick in your mouth but not filling in your stomach. Dark chocolate flavor, creamy, coffee and molassas. Finishes with a nice solid bitter, not lasting.

Pours very dark, with a thin tan head, which quickly decipated. Chocolatey aroma. Wow, great taste, very smooth, nice and full body. Great job once again Bells
