Indulgent flavors include hazelnuts, molasses, chocolate covered coffee beans and caramel malt. The finish is dry and refreshing. Very well balanced and always enjoyable. bluemeow76 (693), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA

Better than the rye version - great warm roasted coffe and chocolate flavor, malty and delicious! Dickinsonbeer (3604), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2005 This is one of my all time favorite stouts. Much better than the double cream IMO. Pours almost pitch black, thick, nice deep brown head, and low carbonation. Aroma is tons of roasted barley, chocolate, some coffee, and some licorice. Flavor is overloaded with roasted barley, chocolate malts, and light caramel malt for a balanced sweetness. The black malt is noticed only in the appearance, as there is no harsh acrid astringency in the flavor or mouthfeel. Finish is so damn smooth, and moderately bitter. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Great roasty aroma of chocolate, sweetened coffee and chestnuts. Makes me drool. Very nice roasty flavor as well without any burnt elements or astringency. Very full body. I think this beer is bigger than Sam Smith’s Imperial Stout, showing how far stout styles have skewed. Excellent stuff. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA

Aroma is wonderfully roasty, with some chocolate. The flavor is outstanding, a nice sweet roasted mocha with a hint of molasses. Outstanding creamy body with a nice sticky mouthfeel. Glad this is #100, Bells rarely disappoints. fidelis83 (734), Clinton, Iowa, USA

Aroma is toffee, lots of caramel and chocolate, and sweet roast. Flavor is very roasty, plenty of toffee, caramel coffee and chocolate, a hint of smoke and char as well. Finish is roast and light bitter hops. Body is medium slightly sticky and perfectly carbonated, slightly chalky on the finish. Great stout brewmaster55 (48), , Wisconsin, USA
