This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

I ’ve wanted to rate this beer for awhile, just never got around to it. Wonderfull coffee like roasted flavor, with a creamy back end. That’s all I could muster up.

pours black color, clear, with creamy light brown - beige, stable head. visually low carbonation. Aroma: dominate dark roasted malt aroma, which takes on coffee, chocolate, cocoa powder, supported with licorice and dark fruits. Flavor: similar to aroma - intense roasted dark malts flavor, supported with licorice, molasses and hop flavors, which takes on some dark fruits/citruses. Hop bitteness is medium and steps forward in finish. finish is slightly roasted, bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is low, texture is velvety smooth.

Pint pour, deep darkest brown to black with amber-khaki head. Nose is full of rich dark roasted coffee and toasty malts with lighter caramel notes in the background. Flavor follows, loads of coffee up front and in the finish, plenty of bitter chocolate. Toasty toasty, rootenest tootenest killer stout. 19052015

A black beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma is great, strong liquirice and dark chocolate, some sourness of milk and roastiness. Taste has liquirice, coffee, some bitterness in the end. Medium bodied, smooth. The body could be strenghten but nothing wrong in this either. The great beer which is dominated by tasteful liquirice and chocolate.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2016 4-ty najlepszy Stout na świecie.
Stout warzony z dodatkiem lukrecji.
Piwo ma nieprzejrzyście czarny kolor. Piana jest beżowa, czapowata, drobnooczkowa i wylewa się ze szkła. Każdy łyk powoduje rysowanie krążka na ściankach. W aromacie słodka czekolada, karmel, lukrecja i odrobina wanilii. W kontrze do tej słodyczy nos atakuje subtelna paloność. W smaku początek jest słodki z wyżej wymienionymi składnikami. Goryczka średnia, niezalegająca, a sam finsz o dziwo wytrawny, długi z orzechowym posmakiem na podniebieniu. Na ostatniej prostej pojawia się również kawa. Niskie wysycenie.

The color is truly opaque. A brilliant complex, dark aroma. Just a touch too bitter for my taste on the finish, but that is emblematic of the American Stout style.

330ml bottle (mart). Very dark brown color. Small size, bubbly tan head, stays. Cocoa powder, roast, chocolate, roast and walnuts in aroma. Roast, chocolate, nutty, crumbly cake in taste. Sweet and crumbly chocolate cake in aftertaste. Hopping is well done. Nice mouthfeel. Excellent brew. Extra points for normal level of alcohol.

(355ml bottle shared @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Apr 21 2016) Pours dark brown with a medium tan head and spotty lace. Aroma is fairly hard-roasted malts, semi-sweet black licorice, a bit of toffee, moderate levels of coffee and darker chocolate, rather dry. Palate again on the drier side with some toffee and caramel for sweetness, along with a reasonable amount of black licorice, coffee grounds, chocolate, roasted and somewhat burnt grains and cacao bitterness. Finish is dry and dusty with lingering licorice and fairly burnt malt. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Very nice stout for the alcohol content, but maybe not quite as intense as it could be even then.

355ml bottle - thanks martjoobolut!
Lovely chocolatey roasted malts in the aroma, says flavoursome, but in a lovely mellow way. More chocolatety malts in the taste, but something special happens when it hits your tongue - wave after wave of roasty-but-milky grains, very nice bitter hops too, burnt in places, but not in a harsh way. Respect for doing such a tasty beer at this strength. Nice full palate, but not heavy. Finish is burnt, chocolatey, and bitterly hopped. Yes, this is beer.

Bottle shared by Mart. Brown beer, tan head. Nose is roast, dry notes and coffee. Nicely mellow. Flavor is, again, mellow, coffee, caramel. Finishes with smooth roasty bitterness, lingering roasty acidity. Very flavorful and smooth, not a 12 percent sledgehammer in your face, but still full of flavor. Very nice.
