This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

(Bells Kalamazoo Stout) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a big snifter, ABV 6% Black coloured body, two full fingers of thick, brown head on top, with great retention. Aroma of milky chocolate, olive pit, light cocoa, more chocolate as it warms up. Taste of dark and milky chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, coal on the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very good, quality beer, lots of flavour and not bad of a body for that ABV.

12 oz Bottle from Growlers to Go The stout poured an inky black with a small tan head and some modest lacing. I think is was too cold. The aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, prunes and licorice are detected. Nice beginning. The medium body stout has a soft carbonation. The flavors are most enjoyable. More licorice, bitter chocolate and dried fruits. The stout finishes with some sweetness of chocolate with the coarseness of burnt malts.

Smell of roasted cofee, medicine stock, malt, come in very deep dark, brown top, tan crown, taste of toasty malt, coffee, just almost full body, thick and slightly slimy, very good stout from Bell’s, but I prefer other Bell’s stouts though.

Pour dark, like an evil dark. About an inch of tan head. Good body. Thick. Tastes of chocolate, malts, sweetness, and caramel. The licorice is a nice accompaniment rather that the star of the show.

From the bottle the pour is very dark chocolate in color, the head is nut brown and lingers on the beer, the aroma is roasted oats with caramel and toffee notes in the back of the nose, the taste is smokey with a hints of caramelized sugars in the finish. Great stout.

Just a great stout. Pours perfectly - nice lingering brown head that lasts the whole beer. Lush, full mouth feel. Lots of delicious dark roast, but not very bitter - more milk chocolate than cocoa. Some anise flavor, too. Overall great beer.
