Pours a black color topped with only a thin brown head. I was a little disappointed by the lack of a thick creamy head. Aroma is roasted chocolate malt albeit mild. There is however quite a bit of flavor to this one. It starts off with a nice rich toasty dark chocolate flavor blended in with malt and a hint of coffee in the background. A bitter aftertaste lingers a while. This one lets you taste it, the mouthfeel is nice and full. In between sips I keep tasting a roasted, almost burned, dark chocolate, bitter flavor. This is good.

Sep 8, 2008 This was very good and creamy. Love that it’s only 6%. Just goes to show ya not everything has to be Imperial.

Sep 7, 2008 pour is dark black with one finger an head. aroma is that of strong gas station coffee. taste is a lot of coffee and chocolate, some toffee and caramel. very good drinkable stout.

Sep 6, 2008 A dark dark stout with a thin moka head, and big chunks at the bottom. A nice bitter chocolate malt, cream, light hops, figs, and dried fruits. In mouth, a good moka chocolate, cold coffee, roasted bitterness, a bit of burned notes. A good pleasing stout.

Sep 5, 2008 Bottle; batch 7648. Pours black with a creamy tan head that settles to a light layer & ring and left behind good lacing. Aromas of milk chocolate, coffee, and a slight roast. The flavor is much the same but with the roast standing out much more. Full body, smooth, and a coffee and roast aftertaste. Very nice Stout!!

Sep 5, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a half finger beige head. Smells are roasted malt, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel. Flavor is sweet roasted malt and hops up front with a burnt coffee and bitter dark chocolate finish. Seemed a little thin for a stout, almost the consistency of a porter. Great beer nonetheless.
