soyorganic (84), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 20, 2008 Updated: Jun 13, 2008 Bottle, color is black with a tan head. Sweet charcoal, chocolate and coffee aroma. Very smooth, flavorful and drinkable beer. It is not overwhelmed with flavors of chocolate and coffee but they are there. Nice simple taste with slight bitter undertones.
yayforbeer (582), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jul 4, 2008 $9.49 for a six pack at Total Wine. Happy Fourth of July! And what better way to celebrate than with a sixer of some of America’s finest stout. I’m somewhat amazed at finding Bell’s Kalamazoo Stout in North Florida. Bell’s must have really ramped up production, and I am grateful. Black beer with a small tan head. Aroma of stout! Great stout flavor! Chocolate, coffee, dark malts, burnt toast, molasses. Very roasty, bitter and dry on the end, but the full, silky smooth flavor takes you there. Nothing off, no rough edges. Perfect balance. Yum! BrewDad (1528), Olympia, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2008 12oz Bottle - Trade - Masonjer

DocHop (165), College Park, Maryland, USA Jun 30, 2008 Pours very dark brown with very little light brown head. Amazing aroma of sweet chocolate, caramel, lightly roasted oats and malts, and espresso! Taste is equally impressive. lightly sweet chocolate balanced by slightly roasted, dry coffee. The earthy sweetness lingers for a long time very pleasingly. Flavor palate is as full as the body, and very very smooth. durhambeer (291), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Expedition’s little brother, this one. Very tasted. Roasty barley, chocolate, marshmallow on the nose. Smooth sweetness and not over the top. Perhaps the best American session stout out there. Sol-id. IDunno19 (12), Ames, Iowa, USA Jun 28, 2008 I’m glad I’m finally getting to try the upper echelon beers. Pours a dark, almost coffee like consistency with a deep caramel colored head. The aroma is of molasses and caramel and cocoa. The flavor is very full and has hints of coffee and caramel with a little bit of a smokey flavor. Absolutely phenomenal beer.
