COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

12-oz bottle. Licorice and soy sauce in the aroma. Roasty malt and licorice up front. Coffee in the finish. Medium body. Clean finish. High drinkability. Another winner by Bellís.

2014/11/24 - Pours a jet black colour with a frothy, tan head that slowly reduces. Aroma is toasted coffee, dark chocolate, lactose, smokey notes and a touch of vanilla. Taste is similar to nose; bitter cocoa, milk chocolate, caramel, mild vanilla, smokey notes and roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is medium and slick with smooth carbonation and a bitter/sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Black color with a small white head. Nose is smoky, roasted chocolates. Taste is similar, thin mouthfeel but still creamy and satisfying. This is a very well done stout, I can see why itís so highly rated.

Bottle from Chris in a trade. Thanks! Poured a black oil with a thick mocha head in my tulip at home. Head lasted and some nice lacing. The aroma was dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, vanilla, caramel, roasted malts, nuts. The taste is similar with the dark chocolate and caramel...then the vanilla, lactose, and roasted goodness on the backend. The texture is velvet and full bodied. Some oil. Very smooth and delicious.

Faint roasted smell... above average stout appearance. Roasted malt, faint chocolate on taste. Seems like a milk stout. Slightly bitter on aftertaste. Overrated

Quite tasty roasty. Don't get a ton of licorice, but a nice chocolate flavor from the malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque dark brown/black with thin brown head. Mil roasty cocoa aroma. Flavors of molasses, licorice, effervescent, raised malt. Not ultra complex, loads of flavor. Light licorice molasses finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I passed on this for awhile because of brewers licorice. This imparts a very subtle flavor to the beer that does not equate with licorice. This is a well balanced stout with mostly chocolate and coffee nuances as with many other stouts. While I like roastiness in a stout this one seems to rely less on this quality but still is in stout territory as opposed to a porter.

Fantastic beer. Thick, black, could use a tad more licorice if it is claimed as licorice beer.

Super roasty yet smooth. I think that is what is the big standout of this beer for me. That and the sweet start that moves quickly to a bitter dark roasted flavor like a french roasted coffee. I actually bumped the aroma a point after giving a little time to warm up. I would suggest doing the same for both flavor and aroma purposes. This beer drinks better after it has had a couple minutes in the glass in my opinion. This is definitely one youíll want to try if your a craft beer lover - it is a necessity if you are a stout drinker.
