3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle into a chalice
packaged 11/05/14, reviewed 01/07/15
A: clear golden, not cloudy as i expected from Bells usual m.o. and other reviews
S: malty smell with not much hop presence
T: hardly cloying but sweetish in crisp cracker/biscuit toast malt flavor with a pine/herb/earth hop bite. nice balance and very nice tasting
M: light body with crisp but not overdone carbonation. pretty nice finish. pretty dry yet with a bit of herb lingering
O: about what i expected from this. solid overall lager with nice crispness to the flavor to give some noteworthiness. otherwise i prefer others but it is priced nicely at $9/6. Worth trying and maybe worth another purchase. pretty good overall just not outstanding in any way

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle (Nov 5, 2014 bottling).
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly/fully diminishing.
Body is light to medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of DMS, concrete, and egg.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Surprisingly poor. Dirty nose and aftertaste. When even Guinness beats you (albeit only slightly) at a pale lager, that’s probably a big hint to get out of the lager business.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good, but not outstanding in any way, sort of a let down. Not as crisp as I expected, I guess maybe I was hoping for something slanted slightly more towards pilsener. So, on style but that’s about it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at blue monk buffalo, Ny son. Pours Amber, translucent, thin off white head. Nice grain nose. Taste is slightly sweet, more wet grains, very light flowers come in gentle waves. Medium body.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Somewhat disappointing. Almost tastes more skunked than like a Pilsner. Have had much better beers from bells.

Julie says it suprisingly drinkable. But it is boring. She gives a 2.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear, pale, white gold with brief white head. Somewhat aromatic. Flavorful, fresh, clean. Sets a higher standard over the typical US "lager". Starts yeasty and finishes smooth with subtle hops notes. Bell?s does nice work.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at barcade, had this a couple times before but never rated it. Probably because it’s a straight forward lager with slightly more flavor and less gmo corn syrup than the macro producers of the style. Hazy gold appearance with small white head. Notes of hay, corn, malt, light hop and rustic grains. I like where the alcohol percentage is also.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
From a 12 oz bottle enjoyed on a hot day at the beach. Pours gold with a thick white head. Some lemon notes in the nose. Flavors of white bread. Okay for the style.

Bottle. Clear straw with little head. Aroma and taste are sweet and fruity lager. Light crisp mouthfeel. Very clean. Ok.
