2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 SSSteve (2361) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2010
12oz bottle. wow, when was this retired? packaged 6/23/10...lucky me. found on work trip to NC. pours a clear gold under a very small white head. aroma is a good mix of sweet malt and bittering hop. flavors of grassy bittering hop and some sweet grainy malt. leaves a delicate, bitter, modestly dry finish. light body. no surprises, but it’s a high quality, easy drinking, refreshing session beer.

On tap at The Eccentric Cafe, pours a very pale color with little head, has a slight sweet aroma but overall the taste is very bland and dull, nothing very exciting.

Pours clear golden body with thin white head which was long lasting as typical of a lager. Aroma is typical lager but flavor was more corny and less watery than some. Its a lager yet somewhat drinkable, somewhat.

Bottle. 12 oz. Split with and courtesy of James. Pours clear golden with a moderate, fluffy white head which recedes quickly. Minimal lacing. Aroma is malts, fresh wet hay, slight sweet corn notes, and hints of dry hops and roasted nuts. Slight, thin body with a bland, somewhat bitter palate. Excellent brew for the style, but I’m just simply not a lager man.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 hopscotch (6083) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 13, 2010
Draft… RBSG 2010… Clear yellow lager with a small, creamy, white head. Apparently, my sniffer isn’t smelling much on this night at HopCat, but I am able to barely pull some peppery hops and pale malt mash from my glass. Light-bodied and coarse with jazzy carbonation. The flavor leans toward the bitter side of balance. Not a lot to it – pale and pilsner malts and Czech hops and not much else. Crisp, refreshing, mildly bitter finish. Not up to snuff, even for a style I don’t tend to find very appealing.

Some decent happiness for a later but it ends up being a muddled taste. I was expecting more from bells as their hegemony is pretty tasty.

I guess if I’m gonna choke down a lager/pilsner - it should be Bell’s. Piss yellow pour, thin head. Stale bread in the nose warming to a urine biscuit odeur. This palate. Light sweet taste. There is actually a small bite of hops at the end, which is this beer’s only saving grace. And that it’s made by bell’s.
