Nicely balanced, Bell’s Lager Beer focuses on the flavors developed in the brew house, matching a crisp bitterness & distinctive herbal hop aromas to a simple yet firm malt backbone. Following in the tradition of Bohemian-style pilsners, this beer spends a full six weeks maturing in the fermentation vessels. This extended conditioning period refines the overall flavor, highlighting the contributions of the malts & hops.

12 oz bottle as Bell’s Lager of the Lakes. Bottled 08/01/16. (Bell’s General Store) Kalamazoo, MI.
Clear pale yellow color with a small white head. Dry grainy malt, mild farmyard, mild hops and some sweetness in the aroma. The flavor is dry grassy hops, mild bitterness, dryness, hints of farmyard and dry malt. Compared to the beer I just had before this... this is heavenly. But it was Busch Light.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2016 On tap at Blue door longfellow, pours a slightly Hazy pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of light citrus and grassy with lager yeast. Taste of cereal grain malt, light grassy and citrus hops, with lager yeast. Lacks distinct crispness and bitterness. Ok.

Clear, bright yella. Fluffy white head on pour. Standard longneck, pretty good label. Mine was masquerading as "Lager of the Lakes". Standard, malty lager aroma, lightly sweet. Good, nice quality, and good balance. Bitterness really builds towards the end, and there’s a mouthy, satisfying body with just a little implied minerality. A quality brew, but not ostentatious or pretentious. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.

Flaska från Mikkeller webshop. Smak och doft av humle, citrus, honung, örter, gräs, bröd och hö. Mjuk, rund och len, fin sötma och god beska. En bra stabil sommarlager.

From the bottle the pour is light straw in color with a bright white head that lingures and is crystal clear. The aroma is yeasty and notes of white bread. The taste is a lager but not getting any distinct notes other than a solid lager flavor. The mouthfeel is this and the finish is crisp.

Tap at Bell’s. Clear golden with white head. Lots of sweet pils malts with grain husks, grassy hops and light herbs. Almost medium bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied with a bit crisp feel. Good German style basic lager.
