Very good larger. Not bland and derrivative like most larger. Big step up from the macro brewers

Bottle thanks to alexgash on BA (i think) If not, probably gregis. Hell, thank you both either way...
Pours pale yellow with a nice big lasting white head in a pilsner glass. Smell is pleasantly malty with a grainy almost slight corn like sweetness. There is an actual, nice hop presence in both the smell and taste. Good balanced mild malty/light bitter hops to it. Nice bitter bite and a nice mouthfeel actually. Slightly thick but crisp carbonation as well. Simple, but nice.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 EKGoldings (487) - Radford, Virginia, USA - DEC 14, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2008 Not enough malt or saaz bitterness for my taste, I’m wondering wit their water chemistry is like. Slight metallic character detracts.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (4606) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - DEC 9, 2007
Bottle as "Lager of the Lakes": Poured golden and quite clear. Crisp and clean with a light Bohemian hoppiness and an almost fruity warmth to it. This is a very well made lager, an every day beer for more than every day people. (#3240, 12/9/2007)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 walter (359) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2007
Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Pale straw color with quickly fading white head. Nose is grassy and slightly fruity, with some faint light malt sugar coming through. Flavor is clean light malt with a touch of some funky grassy hops and a bit of lemon citrus here and there. Nice and crisp overall, and perfect carbonation. Nothing to gush over, but certainly an easy drinker.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Acknud (966) - Morganfield, Kentucky, USA - NOV 26, 2007
Pale in color and head. Aroma is grassy with a yeasty bready taste. Slight bitter finish. Not on par with bells heavier offerings but drinkable on a light summer day. I could drink this and mow the lawn.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 demitriustown (902) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - NOV 5, 2007
12 oz bottle: Aroma is nice malty, grainy texture with a nice slightly pungent hop aroma with some twang to it. Pours a medium sized head with a oragnish/straw color. Taste is nice for this kind of lager. "Like an old pilsener used to taste like before they got all watered down in the state" as my father stated. Palate is ever so slightly bitter with a bit of the malt bringing up the rear. Overall, I thought this was a really good pilsener. Bell’s seem to never disappoint with me.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (4828) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 18, 2007
This brew is a hazy honey color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Floral hops, grass and light malt in the nose. Light body with moderate carbonation. Saaz hops character alongside malt, straw and yeast flavors. The finish is bitter hops and bready malt with lingering bitterness. Above average all around.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Beaver (912) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 13, 2007
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden with a thin white head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass.
The aroma is doughy, slightly sweet malts, with some grassy hops (Saaz?).
The flavor is mostly noble hops (Saaz) that are slightly metallic, but provide more bitterness than expected. A little sweetness from the malt comes out as it warms. The mouthfeel is medium and kind of watery.
Overall, a pretty good, albeit one-dimensional pilsener (not my favorite style).
