Very light yellow. Fomy head with some visual carbonation. Very plain but appealing. A stray grassy taste but very drinkable.

I’ll have to agree with JK on this one, felt like a pale lager more so than it did a pilsner. The taste was very nice, fairly sweet with a good ending of bitterness. The palate was perfect and the flavours well balanced. For what it is, it’s great.

I thought it was more of a high quality pale lager rather than a pils. It does have some light hops and fair palate, but I didn’t get any of the Bohemian character I expected from the description.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2006 Pours light yellow and sparkling with and fizzy white head. Aroma is moderatly malty of straw, with leathery yeast phenols. Flavor is moderatly sweet and lightly bitter, a good balance, with a short but more bitter finish . Light to medium bodied watery and creamy with lively carbonation. Smooth and refreshing nice balance or character.

bottle, labeled Lager Beer. Great beer. Way better than I expected. Smooth mouthfeel, sweet and light flavor but very tasty! Strong buttery notes. Nice bitter aftertaste, medium white head that holds throughout. Aroma is of fruits and a bit grassy maybe...

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2006 Bottle: Aroma is very grassy with some light grain, bread, and a touch of honey. Pours a bright crystal clear gold with a small soapy head that quickly fades to a ring. Starts lightly sweet with a hint of honey and sugar. Moderate grassy finish. A solid pilsner. Very easy drinking, but once again, not my style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle labeled Bells Lager Beer - Poured golden with a short white head that stayed pretty well and laced the glass. Aromas of grassy hops, and crisp grains. Flavor is grains, pale malts, and a crisp clean hop finish. Light bodied with fair carbonation. Not bad at all for the style..

Crystal clear yellow body with little head. Slight hops, but not much else going on. Interesting for the style but nothing I’ll re-visit.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2006 Good example. No corn just mellow hops and pale malts. Crisp, clean, slightly bitter and mildly sweet. Finish slightly dry.
Earlier Rating: 3/28/2003 Total Score: 3.3
Light gold color with a large rocky white head. Hop aroma with a dry hop taste. A very drinkable beer that I would like to try on draft.
