COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As refreshingly crisp as a morning swim in a Great Lake, this brew is crafted with Pils and Munich malts. The pronounced hop character of this golden lager sparks thoughts of sandy beaches and rocky islands.

Great aroma very sharp hop citrus aroma. Cloudy orange with a large pillowy head! Some chunks in the bottom. Nice malts and bitters good balance bit of an acidic bite. Medium body. Great beer!

Golden yellow color with a thin, big bubble head and a dusty grain nose. Grainy malt flavors with a harsh tang in the finish that is too sweet to be lemon. I suppose its not bad, but I never have to have it again.

On tap at Brewery: Straw hue with very little head. Grain, citrus, and vanilla aroma. Hoppy initial taste, tart and citrusy. Smooth, yet not completely balanced. Strange feel on the palate, metallic but also buttery. It an okay session beer which is no better on tap than bottle, would recommend something else from Bell's if available.

uh oh... did some one say parkay? ... "butter" says the lil butter dish... well bells beer should say "butter" as well because that is exactly what it tasted and smells like

Slightly hazy god w/ small white head. Fresh grassy, biscuity, light hop aroma. Light, nicely carbonated feel. Rich hop flavour w/ excellent malt character. Dry, slightly acidic finish.

Lightly cloudy, smallish head. Intensive aroma of garden after rain, fresh good malt and green hops. Same goes to flavour. Rich hopy that blends so nicely with malty backbone. Specific signature taste this beer have. Great pils unusually made but that did not hurt it helped in this case.

On tap at Bell's with great company! A raw flavorful, full-bodied lager, positive dripping with pale malt and incredibly tingly with high hop levels. Delciious.

I kind of like this beer despite my better judgement. Maybe it's the label art. It kind of smells like shit--sulfury/diacetyl/grassy hops. Flavor is slightly buttery, but clean, with some grassy hop bite, some biscuity malt flavor.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2006 Replacing an earlier review of Bells Beer. This is its "Lager of the Lakes" incarnation. Slightly hazy straw-colored body, thin off-white head. Grassy aroma with biscuit and hints of lemon. A touch sharp. Grassy, bitter hops make a strong impression on the palate, dominating the light, biscuity malt. Not quite as interesting as I remembered it, but my palate has certainly changed over the past three years.
