Nicely balanced, Bellís Lager Beer focuses on the flavors developed in the brew house, matching a crisp bitterness & distinctive herbal hop aromas to a simple yet firm malt backbone. Following in the tradition of Bohemian-style pilsners, this beer spends a full six weeks maturing in the fermentation vessels. This extended conditioning period refines the overall flavor, highlighting the contributions of the malts & hops.

Crystal clear yellow body with little head. Slight hops, but not much else going on. Interesting for the style but nothing Iíll re-visit.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2006 Good example. No corn just mellow hops and pale malts. Crisp, clean, slightly bitter and mildly sweet. Finish slightly dry.

Light gold color with a large rocky white head. Hop aroma with a dry hop taste. A very drinkable beer that I would like to try on draft.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2007 Ha! Eat it Hoster, Iím the first to rate this! Pours golden with a pure white head. Smells like a beer pong table on the morning after a party. Tastes grassy and finishes with a pronounced corn-like aftertaste. This is what I think something like a Miller Lite or a PBR would be if it didnít taste watered down or have any odd chemical flavors. Itís refreshing and certainly much better than too many other beers in this category (by volume), but itís not my thing.

Draft at brewpub Cafe. Poured clear amber with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet malt and sour citrus aroma. Medium body with lively carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

On tap at the Great Taste of the Midwest. Poured a clear, lighter golden with almost no head. Sweet pale malts and corn syrup on the nose with hints of herbal hoppage. Sticky pale malts in the flavor with some darker sugars... but lacked a good driving force... mild herbal bitterness at the edges. This really didnít do it for me.

Draught @ Bells Eccentric Cafe 7/13/06. Pours a dark, clear yellow/golden color with a big white fluffy head. Nose is very corny with some honey and grass notes. Palate was crisp and refreshing. Lots of bubbles quickly floating up to the top of the glass. Head retention is good with the head staying for 3/4 of the glass. Flavor is corn and honey, kinda on the sweet side with a bit of grass notes.

Tap @ Great taste of the Midwest- Pours a golden yellow color, small white head. Aroma is pretty basic for the style. Flavor is also as expected, a decent alternative to BMC, though not bottled.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2007 í05 GTMW sample. Clear light amber body. Light grain and hops in the aroma. Pretty standard lagery flavor. On a positive note the flavor is very well-blended and smooth. Bottle shared by Chuck: good crisp floral-crisp aroma. Nicely hop-bitter flavor with a saazy dry hop finish.
