Nicely balanced, Bellís Lager Beer focuses on the flavors developed in the brew house, matching a crisp bitterness & distinctive herbal hop aromas to a simple yet firm malt backbone. Following in the tradition of Bohemian-style pilsners, this beer spends a full six weeks maturing in the fermentation vessels. This extended conditioning period refines the overall flavor, highlighting the contributions of the malts & hops.

Rich and toasty in both flavor and aroma. Many spicy flavors. Medium bodied. Too heavy to be an easy drinker, too light on flavor to be special

Batch 7726 of "Bellís Lager of the Lakes" Lager Beer made with Pils and Munich malts (5% ABV according to the Bellís web site)... Light golden yellow color with a small foamy white head. Moderate amount of visible carbonation. Aroma is pale malt, light grassy hops, and a certain tanginess that I canít put my finger on (most likely a characteristic imparted by the particular strain of yeast used). Great pils flavor is accompanied by a well constructed grassy and slightly spicy hop bitterness (mild to moderate bitterness overall). More and more great European-like Pilsner flavor seems to surface with each drink, so the overall flavor also gets better and better! Light and crisp on the palate. A good, easy drinkiní Pilsner offering from a great brewery! 12 oz bottle, $1.50+tax (sale) from Jungle Jimís.

Bottle, pours a clear golden color with a thick white head. Faint aroma of spicy hops (Saaz as the description says)> Pretty bland flavor, clean, but almost to clean, doesnít seem to be alot going on. Much better than any macro-swill, but I wouldnít drink this regularly.

Pours a clear deep gold, topped by half an inch of white foam. The head is fed by steady carbonation. Okay retention, decent lacing. Moderate cereal grain in the aroma - a little sweet, a little floral hop, a little grainy. Dry cereal grain malt flavor - grainy and dry and tart and tangy. Stronger than a generic macro with a combination of lightly bitter and lightly spicy hopping. Interesting blend of flavor. Almost medium body, quite crisp and clean - a nice job with the carbonation. A fair supply of lemon in the finish.

Pours golden yellow with head that laces. Aroma has grass and malt. Flavor is somewhat sweet and earthy up front with a slightly spicy hop profile that leads to a clean, bitter finish. Gets extra overall points for low alcohol content. I could imagine old guys ice fishing and finishing a case of these.

Bottle. Transparent golden pour with a white head. Aroma of pale malt, a tinge of funk and some yeast. Flavor of corn, pale malt, light grassy hops and a bit of yeast. Light body with a nice carbonation to it and a clean finish

Bottle from Chris (styles) Thanks. Pours out a yellow color without much of a head. Smell is clean, lemons, some malts, a little grassy smell as well. Taste is smooth and easily drinkable. There is a unique taste that I cannot quite pick up what it is. Soon maybe I will be able to buy this in NC so I can get more. This would be a session beer to rival prima pils. Good stuff.

Bells Lager of the Lakes from a six pack of 12 ounce bottles. The picture here at Rate Beer does not match the true bottle label. Golden yellow with a low, white head. Aroma is of yeast, hops, grass, and (as the previous rater indicated) corn nuts (as odd as it sounds). The flavor is very much a standard, yet good, lager. Malty with a clean taste of bread, hops, and sweet corn. The finish is full yet crisp.

From a 12oz Bottle, Lager of the Lakes, Batch #7613. Clear, lightly golden color with a small layer of gleaming white head. Light, grassy hop aromas and a hint of unseasoned corn nuts. Light bodied, sparkling mouthfeel. Very light malt characters with a touch of corn fusels forms some sort of sourish malt composition. A respectable smack of grassy Saaz hops lingers on the palate, but is only moderately clean, leaving the final smack refreshing, but somewhat disappointing. Thanks, Tom!
