3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 auerbrau (2662) - Peace Dale, Rhode Island, USA - AUG 17, 2007
On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Aroma comes clean with a fresh malt biscuit and watered grain aroma, behind a bit of mineral salt, toast and ester notes. Pours in a pale amber gold, clothed in a soapy bath of off-white. Flavor comes in with nips of honeyed sweetness, rich wheat sugars, calming British yeast esters and a cue of full flavored hop balance. Nicely refreshing and dry, with an easy drinking finish. Smacks a touch in calm spice. Delicious all around and with a tooth of delectable alcohol.

very well done...on tap at bells....reddish copper body with medium off-white head..aroma is of toasted malts, light caramel, and grassy hops..flavor is as expected, a largely earthy backbone that gives rise to the moderately bready qualities..finishes somewhat dry and a touch bitter...very grassy and piney, and very quaffable

On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Clear copper body, thin off-white head. Toasty aroma with potent herbal hops. Cerealy, biscuity body with Cheerios notes, pierced by sharp, herbal, piney hops. More assertive than most bitters, fresh-tasting with good complexity. Nice.
