I was traveling back home from the three Floyd’s brewery and bells was on the way, so how could I not stop there. The beer list had this on it and it sounded like a crazy cachimany new beer that Larry thought of and decided to make to see if it was good so I couldn’t not get it. It came with almost no head and a very transparent amber orange color. It smells very citrusy and malty. The taste is of citrus, hops, and laid back malts. This tastes like a ramped up version of two hearted, which takes my favorite beer and takes it to the max. If they started to sell this in stores then it would probably become my new go to beer. I love it.

Tap at the source. Pours lighter amber off-white head, little retention/some lace. Aroma of big citrus/floral/pine hop, caramel. Taste is quite bitter, fruity, pine, light sweetness. Palate is average carbonation, oily, bitter finish.

On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Pours a clear gold with a slight amber hue and an off-white head that dissipates to the edges and laces nicely. Aroma has a beautiful pine and bitter citrus combination backed by light grains with a touch of sweetness. Flavor is much more citrus forward with a bit of bitter pine and a grain backbone.

Tap @ Bells: Deep, mostly cloudy burnt copper & deep amber... Almost brown, actually. Rich, beige, super lathery head on top; lasting & creamy. Aroma of juicy citrus, grapefruit, dense pine, tangerine, light florals & flower petals, & some moderate candied orange peel towards the back-end. Tastes like a grapefruit coated with sugar & drizzled with a touch of caramel. Pretty malty & sweet, although balanced by some toastiness & a plentiful balance of hops. Orange, mild toffee, floral notes, leading to a pretty bitter, perfume-like finish. I feel like if this were bottle (or "old" at all) it would be overly sweet & gross. But fresh from the tap, it was pretty good, even though I normally don’t like DIPAs that tend on the sweet, maltier side. Semi-sticky body.

Pailhead (5025) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - OCT 5, 2014
On tap: The aroma consists of light citrus, faint fruit, and a hint of grain. It’s a transparent dark amber with a small off-white head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of light fruit with a hint of caramel. The finish moderate citrus hops with grapefruit and a touch of pine. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Tap at source. Clean amber gold. Solid lacing. Subtle, yet bright nose. Pine and tangerines. Taste builds. Juicy citrus, cutting pine notes. Medicinal finish. Classic palate wrecker.

Draft at EC. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop, fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet citrus flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

Draft at brewery. Th pour is a nice amber with thick head. The aroma is subtle hops. The taste is much more hop heavy than the aroma. A good drinking iipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
