Had this on tap a few different times at Bells. Really crisp mead, not super sticky like you would think. Very little alcohol, and thin on the tongue. Straight forward flavor, but a really solid beer.

Golden clear. Very wine like overall and not very sweet. Light citrus, light floral notes. A bit dry. Decent but too much like a wine for my tastes.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 sethmoko (16) - Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2012
Poured from bottle at Bell’s. Poured very light, almost clear. Sweet and drinkable, definitely did not taste the alcohol.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 Bradbalk (9) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - APR 16, 2012 does not count
Poured a very light sparkly white color, looks like a glass of Sprite. The smell is lightly sweet with a hint of honey and citrus. The flavors are odd, more wine than honey, with light sweet citrus flavors. Taste like a semi sweet riesling. Very carbonated mouthfeel. Didn’t really care for this, just isn’t very mead like.

batch 1/11 bottle #331/487 from schiller on 11/25/11.
pale yellow near clear with a slim white head of sharp small bubbles.
it smells and tastes a lot like sprite.... lemon, honey, alcohol, florals and light sulfur.
crisp sharp mouth feel helps keep it lighter. 6/3/6/3/13

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2012 À la pompe au pub: Difficile de juger. C’est clairement un hydromel puissant avec une emprise alcoolisé à ne pas sous-estimé. Liquide clair et moyennement sucré très chaud et croustillant.

On tap at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. Aroma is sweet grapes. Very pale yellow, and clear. Taste is pretty nice; sweet honey, with a dry finish. Hard to rate on the same scale as beer, but there you go.

Sample at the brewpub. Bell’s’ Mead is a clear pale yellow color with some tiny bubbles atop and decent legs. Nose of honey and flowers. Medium sticky body with a floral character and flavors of sweet honey and ripe fruit. The finish is sweet and fruity. Pretty average overall but perhaps I am spoiled by Kuhnhenn’s Meads.

Bottle thanks to womencantsail. Pours with a clear, pale, golden hued body with a fading white head and mild legs. Aromas are sweet one the nose, honey, mild floral notes and dusty. Flavors are dry and taste a bit oxidized, dry leaves, sulfur and honey. Light acid, but not really enough to balance. Medium bodied, somewhat dry finish despite the sweetness, low carbonation. Not particularly well made.

Thanks for the bottle, Derek! The pour is a pale yellow color with a little bit of carbonation to it (interesting). The nose is rather sweet with a definite grape soda aroma. There is a bit of honey to it as well as some sugar. The flavor is a bit like a grape soda mixed with an Otter Pop. Really quite sweet and sugary, though the light carbonation does help a little bit. A bit boozy, too, despite being on the lower end of alcohol for a mead.

750mL bottle at the Black Friday Tasting pours clear colorless water with hints of golden hues and a super slim near white head. The aroma is honey, crusty dry honey, a modest white wine like note and some chemicals at the end of the draw. The taste goes from rich honey sweetness to thin semi tart white wine notes. Ok mead I guess that’s on the thin chemical and sort of tart side.
