Tap: Hazy yellow body, soapy & foamy white bubbles sit on top. Aroma of bubblegum & heavy Belgian yeast. Lots of esters, sweet banana, some clove & gummy coriander. Almost a little too spicy, abrasive at times. Taste is very wheaty, gummy, & again, almost overly spiced from the yeast. I’m getting a big-time creamed corn flavor, too. Mild hops, slightly earthy finish with a sharpness from the yeast. This one’s a little messy, not a big fan.

Tap at Busters. Murky orange yellow pour with a monster fluffy white head. Citrus, spice, and yeast. Everything subtle individually, but collectively there’s big taste here. Delicious.

Location: Draft at Franklin Tap, 6/17/14

Aroma: It has a mostly Belgian yeast and spice aroma, with some light hops
Appearance: This one has a murky orange colored pour, with some light/ streaky lace
Flavor: The taste is yeast and spice as well, light sweet, and light bitter
Palate: The body is light-medium, with an okay mouthfeel, and a plus carbonation
Overall Impression: Overall, I was a little disappointed by this beer. There’s too much spice here, and it just doesn’t lead to a tasty/balanced beer. To be honest, I expected a better example of the style from Bells.

Pours a hazy yellow on tap with fluffy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is musty dirt and Belgian spicy esters, a hint of floral earthy hops. Taste follows, dirty and not so well balanced. This is probably the worst Bells beer I have ever had, a definite miss for me.

Draught at Beer Trappe. Light yeasty Belgian ale with some light hop and musty finish. Decent. Bit subtle for a Belgian style.

Sample at Bell’s on 5/18/14. Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Aroma of banana, clove and creaminess. Banana and clove flavor with slight pepper before a thin finish.

Friend got me a growler from the brewery. Very nice light ale with some spice and citrus notes in the flavor. Smelled a lot like barnyard and outdoors. Bright, fresh and easy drinking.

On tap at the Eccentric Café. The pour is a semi-clear golden straw with a decent white head that fades down quickly. The aroma is typically yeasty, with a nice malt and a light fruitiness. The flavor is again typically Belgian. There is a good yeastiness, and some overbearing clove characters. Much better than I was anticipating. The mouth feel is a little light, but there is a decent carbonation. The aftertaste is lingeringly malty and pretty good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The Murcurial pours a cloudy bronze yellow with a nice ivory head that lasts a long while. The aroma is quite faint, but I detect wheat, bread and floral. The flavor is floral up front with a nice balance of bread and wheat mixed in. Overall this is a decent beer.
