4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the eccentric cafe July 9th. The aroma is fantastic as well as the flavor. The hops profile is a bit indecernable however pine resin and fruit hit the nose right off the bat with a strong acidic flavor. Very well done as far as pale ales go.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had this on tap at Founders and Arcadia. Pours a moderate caramel color with a nice fluffy head. Nose has pretty good citrus with a bit of a malt backbone. Flavor is fairly hoppy and bitter. Easy drinking and well done.

It seems a bit odd to call this the Bells anniversary ale when it was a collaboration brew? I had this at New Holland, listed as MBG Anniversary Ale, and they called it a Double IPA--and the Michigan Beer Blog similarly says it could be called a "strong IPA" or DIPA. Well, it was fine. Served a bit too cold but it warmed to a nice balance, though the hops seemed a bit indistinctive and left a slightly murky finish. But it was a fine DIPA--yellow, reasonably resinous, and with the alcohol well in check. (on tap at New Holland Brewing Company)

Hazy orange pour into pint glass at eccentric cafe. Lingering white head a quarter inch thick. Plentiful lacing around the glass. Citrus hop scent. Hoppy bitter mouth feel. Hop forward upon entering mouth, flavor turns maltier a moment later (slightly, not overly so). Hop flavor is pineier than citrus but both are present. Sweet piney bitter on finish. Very crisp.
