A refreshing, blond colored pale ale. Bellís pale ale is made almost exclusively from pale malt. It expresses a spicy floral hop aroma and taste.

Pours a dark hazy gold with nice two-finger off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves behind a lot of sticky lace. Aroma is of pale malt with a little citrus. Not very interesting in the nose department. The flavor is good. light sweetness, medium bitterness, a bit biscuity. Definitely good but no real wow factor. This beer has a light body though is a bit creamy and sticky. It has lively carbonation and a long dry finish. All in all this is not one of Bellís best. However, even the worst beer from one of the best breweries in the world is still worth a try. Not an outstanding pale ale but still a decent beer.

ARH (772) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2015
12 oz bottle poured into a shaker. The aroma is initially a muted grass and grain with a touch of stone fruit (underripe apricot?) which later emits more distinct grapefruit and lemon notes combined with crusty bread. Itís a clear and dull gold color with noticeable sediment suspended in the liquid. Itís topped by a white dense soap head that has moderate retention and lace. Itís texture is oily with an active fizziness and a medium body. Roasted flavors of grain and toffee are initially noted with a citrus sweetness. The finish is crisp and long and is initially a spike of bright citrus but turns waxy bitter with a hint of marmalade that leaves behind a wax and bread crust aftertaste.

Bottle poured a clear tarnished gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of breads, earthiness and light graininess. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of bread and earthiness with a smooth dry finish.

Mild citrus, hops on the nose. Muted sweet malt initially. Richer bitterness than expected. Pilsner like bitterness on the finish...peppery. Lingers a bit.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a white head and lacing. It has a mild aroma of grassy hops and malt, with a flavor that is light malt up front and a slightly spicy hop finish over a medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 2 months old. Got it accidentally in a 6 of Oarsman, glad I tried it without springing for 6. Kind of a muted version of Oberon with less wheat and less hop zing. Light to medium body. Not a standout but fine.

Bottle @ NYC Craft Beer Festival. Pale yellow with small foamy off-white head, no specific aroma, high carbonation, bitter taste, medium finish. Not exactly the best Bellís Iíve tried.

A relatively simple beer done well. Not trying too hard not reaching too high. It's actually better than I remember it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
