Draft sample. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt, coffee and vanilla wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy chocolate sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

Draft to taster at the Eccentric Cafe. Looks solid; a translucent cola with light beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, and vanilla. Tastes like it smells, but less robust, with a thiner mouthfeel. Good, but would would be great with more abv and viscosity.

Tap @ Bells: Exceedingly deep brown body with rich, mahogany edges. The foamy, thin khaki head settles quickly to a chunky collar. Lots of oily, roasted coffee beans in the aroma. Like sticking your head in a fresh bag of beans. Hints of dark cacao & roasted, lightly charred malt. Not much vanilla in the aroma, just a huge bout of oily coffee. Flavor is the same, like sipping on a French pressed coffee. Slightly oily, charred, & heavily roasted with hints of bitter cocoa underneath. Thereís a touch of very mild barrel tannin & vanillin towards the back-end with a slight boozy warmth that is likely from the Black Note aging. Iíd like a bit thicker of a mouth feel but this is still more substantial than the regular porter or the Pecan Pie version. Very nice.

Black pour with brown hue, small amount of beige foam on top. Aroma of rich cold brew coffee with hints of vanilla. Soft carbonation, tingly mouthfeel, oily viscosity, finishes a bit acidic and dry. Earthy bitter chocolate, rooty but subtle, astringency on finish reminiscent of coffee and/or vanilla, smooth and a bit foamy. Really good, light bodied coffee beer.

On tap at Roll Out the Barrel at the Eccentric Cafť. The pour is a dark brown with some garnet edges and a nice medium tan head and some spotty lace. Head falls down to a filmy collar. The aroma is big time on mocha. There is a nice cocoa and malt presence, but this is exactly what it promises. I like it. The flavor is more malt dominated and the mocha falls off. The cocoa is still there, and itís not too prominent. There is a bit of bitterness on the back end which I wasnít expecting. The mouth feel is thin. Thin and a little slick. The carbonation is there, but barely. The aftertaste is lingeringly coffee-based with a little vanilla and almost like a green leaf thing going on. Pretty good

Aroma is mocha, roasted malt, not too light. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head. Taste is mocha forward, some roasted malt, thin but not offensively so. Mouthfeel is nice, a touch thin but not crazy, and mocha hangs. Overall, pretty solid.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate coffee, light-moderate chocolate, and vanilla. Itís a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small tan head. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate and light vanilla. The finish has moderate-heavy coffee/espresso and very faint hints of whiskey and oak. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.
