Designed as a flavorful session beer, Oarsman Ale uses a classic German brewing technique to impart a light, refreshing tartness. Oarsman Ale grew out of a desire to explore the tradition of session beers, trading intensity for finesse while still creating a worthwhile experience for the taster. The grain bill includes a healthy portion of wheat, while light hopping lend citrus & herbal notes to the aroma. Fermented with Bell’s house ale yeast, Oarsman comes in at 4.0% alcohol by volume. Rather than being the dominant flavor note, the tartness in Oarsman takes on more of a palate-cleansing role, making it perfect with meals or purely on its own.

Sweet, fruity candy on the nose. Almost sour start, quick backfill with tart and fruit sweetness. Nice balance. Nice intro Berliner.....refreshing and sessionable.

Interesting, odd drawing on the label. Pale pour. Hmm. This seems like a lemony, light cream ale - I didn’t realize it was supposed to be a Berliner Weisse. It is a little sweet’n’sour, with some mellow toasted grain flavor. A fine session brew.

Floral, citrus and fruity aroma. The scent is watery and light citrus. The taste is light and watery citrus, too. Slightly bitter which fills the upper part of the mouth briefly. Good beer but not impressive. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Not a huge fan of this style, but for what it wants to be, it succeeds. Tartness isn’t overpowering.

12oz bottle into pint glass. Minneapolis. pours pale yellow, hazy, with small white head. aroma is funky, citrusy, hay. Pretty interesting. Taste is tart thoughout. Mild sweetness underneath. Light body, soft carbonation, short finish. Really refreshing beer. Could imagine drinking a lot of this on a warm day.

White yellow with a small head and minimal lace. Looks like a Chardonnay. Fruity aroma, tart white wine taste. Light body, minimal carbonation and a flat finish.
