COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed as a flavorful session beer, Oarsman Ale uses a classic German brewing technique to impart a light, refreshing tartness. Oarsman Ale grew out of a desire to explore the tradition of session beers, trading intensity for finesse while still creating a worthwhile experience for the taster. The grain bill includes a healthy portion of wheat, while light hopping lend citrus & herbal notes to the aroma. Fermented with Bell’s house ale yeast, Oarsman comes in at 4.0% alcohol by volume. Rather than being the dominant flavor note, the tartness in Oarsman takes on more of a palate-cleansing role, making it perfect with meals or purely on its own.

Super brew. I'm really getting into sour beers. This one has a great bitter, crisp citrus wheat flavor. A bit of herbal taste. Fading to a very mellow malt. Clean, somewhat thin palate, light carbonation. Big head that fades quickly. Great drinker. Thanks again Bells. -Fish!

Poured from bottle into pint glass. Poured a hazy yellow, medium sized head. Looked good until It hit my mouth. Veryt tart. This may have been the worst beer I’ve ever had. Sorry Bells, This misses by a long shot!

Citrus and floral notes with a tartness not unlike a cider but without the apple taste. Lightly cloudy weiss-i-nesd. Totally summer sessionable.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with small white head. Light tart lemon aroma with wheat. Taste is similar as it is lightly tart and wheat. Really not much going on here. It is refreshing enough, but just nothing really exciting. Probably true to the style, though.

I’m not sure people rating this beer know what a Berliner Weisse is. On that note very enjoyable! Great summer beer.

Pours very pale wheat color. White head. Can be slightly cloudy due to the yeast sediment. Aroma is slightly yeasty, citrus, tart fruit. Tast is tart (not bitter) like lemon and green seedless grapes. Very crisp finish. Light but quite refreshing. Could be great on a hot summer day; Tasty with lighter dishes like salads, or a mild fish, or chicken dish.

As pale and fizzy as any adjunct lager. The aroma is slightly bitter, and the flavor is really tart. Not bitter, but tart. Like pickle juice and beer mixed together. This was pretty bad.

Bottle. Light cloudy color. Unfavorable aroma. Bitter taste. Not enjoyable at all. Avoid
