COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed as a flavorful session beer, Oarsman Ale uses a classic German brewing technique to impart a light, refreshing tartness. Oarsman Ale grew out of a desire to explore the tradition of session beers, trading intensity for finesse while still creating a worthwhile experience for the taster. The grain bill includes a healthy portion of wheat, while light hopping lend citrus & herbal notes to the aroma. Fermented with Bell’s house ale yeast, Oarsman comes in at 4.0% alcohol by volume. Rather than being the dominant flavor note, the tartness in Oarsman takes on more of a palate-cleansing role, making it perfect with meals or purely on its own.

Have you ever lost a bet and had to drink pee? I’ll tell you what - instead of that why dont you drink some oarsman. What this was made for is when the crew team had a bad meet they’d have to drink this as a penalty. Smells like pee, looks like pee, tastes like pee. Awful. Tastes as bad as Lysol or a tained homebrew. Honestly, the most horrid beet I have ever purchased.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow-gold with no head or lace. Aroma is lemon mash and wheat. The taste is crisp with Cheerios, lemon, slight coriander and some funk. Very refreshing, clean, crisp. Light body, moderate carbonation. Thanks for the trade JB.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear light amber, thin white head cover, dots of lace. Aroma of malt and corn. Taste is underwhelming -- mostly lemon with a little malt and a very little hops thrown in at various times. Not particularly thirst quenching, not up to Bell’s usual standards.

12 oz bottle shared from Total Wine & More - Gilbert, AZ. Pale gold appearance with a diminishing white head. Tart citrus fruits, light herbs and light bready malts. Light and refreshing.

Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy golden hue with fizzy dhite head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is corn, lactic, hay, lemon. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a tartness following. Overall this would be a decent brew, but is a bit too heavy on the DMS.

Draft at church publick. Ale brown color with an amber taste. Nice copper color with a good slight hoppy malt balance

This ale poured a light blonde colour with a minimal, bright white head. Scents include oatmeal, dough, light lemon citrus and tuna. First swig was quite smooth but slightly watery. Flavours of light lemon cough drops and even lighter malt.

Light lager scent, pale yellow, medium white head. Extremely light body, refreshing, slight sour notes, easy to drink. I should be mowing the lawn right now. The slightly acidic mouthfeel adds to the refreshment factor. Interesting light beer developments.

Not much aroma to speak of. A bit like an adjunct lager on the nose. Maybe some phenols, not sure. Taste is okay. Not very tart, but a little sour at the finish. Palate is awesome. Nice warm weather beer. Refreshing, but not something I'd seek out when it isn't hot. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from beer club. Pours a murky straw with a thin white head. Citrus to the nose. First taste I thought pineapple, but after that sour lemon with a tart finish. Would drink again, especially on a hot summer day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
