COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed as a flavorful session beer, Oarsman Ale uses a classic German brewing technique to impart a light, refreshing tartness. Oarsman Ale grew out of a desire to explore the tradition of session beers, trading intensity for finesse while still creating a worthwhile experience for the taster. The grain bill includes a healthy portion of wheat, while light hopping lend citrus & herbal notes to the aroma. Fermented with Bell’s house ale yeast, Oarsman comes in at 4.0% alcohol by volume. Rather than being the dominant flavor note, the tartness in Oarsman takes on more of a palate-cleansing role, making it perfect with meals or purely on its own.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a modest white head. Aroma of apples, damp hay/ wheaty funk, old lemons. After that the taste is a bit of a let down. There’s little sourness and it’s all a lot less funky than the aroma leads you to expect. What sourness there is is lemony and upfront. Wheat and lemon, dry finish. Pretty refreshing but not very involving.

355 ml bottle. Enjoyed at San Diego, CA. Pours a cloudyvpale yellow colour with a small head. Aroma of yeast, lemon muffins and some bread. Flavour is very yeasty with some maltiness and lemon juice. Light bodied. Watery. Messy. A berliner weisse? Really?

Pours clear golden color with a small head. Lime and lemon on the nose, yeast and spices with some earthy notes. Sourish lemon flavor, spices and yeast. A bit boring, crisp though.

35,5 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. Aroma has bush leaves and some yeast. Flavour is tart with citron, some malty notes and hints of bush leaves. Somewhat watery and rather bland for a berliner. Refreshing anyway.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. This was a very refreshing Berliner Weissbier. The beer has a slightly tart fruit flavor that goes well in the hot weather.

Pours yellow-gold with 1 finger white soapy head. Very photogenic beer. Smells citrusy. Taste is lemongrass, acid. Nice sour finish. Light-medium body. Light-medium carbonation. Solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

080815. Bottle from Beer Cartel. A touch funky but overall reasonably good. A bit of citrus in the background of the flavour. Aroma is a bit light on. But overall a drinkable beer that would really suit the warmer weather.
