3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 richc83 (16) - Illinois, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Easy drinking blonde ale... Pours a clear blonde with minimal lacing and carbonation... Not much flavor, hop character, or maltiness... Definitely could drink a 6 pack and not have a buzz
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TomTron (296) - Aiken, South Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Pours a hazy and lively orange with a sudsy white head. Yeasty aroma and some light fruits but it’s not really in your face. Have to say this is an odd brew. This beer looks like it should taste way better, with perhaps more citrus character, but it falls short. Bells makes a ton of good beers, but to me this one isn’t one of their best.

Poured a golden straw murky color with one finger of gray head that dissipated fairly quickly. Sporadic spots of thick lacing along the sides. Average-to-bad retention on the top.
Smelled honey, lemon grass, cereal, wheat grass and corn. A bit grainy overall.
Tasted much smoother than the smell. Got honey, wheat, lemon grass, cereal and some pale ale characteristics with a cleaner finish.
Light body. Thin-to-oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, watery, smooth finish.
A pretty good beer for the style. Nice for the summer. Happy to see Bell’s!

Better year for Oberon than last. A summer staple for any beer lover! A wheat ale begging for an orange or straight out of the bottle on a pontoon.
