COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale. (Formerly known as Solsun)

I’m generally totally down with the summer ale style, so I expected a lot from the Bell’s. For the most part, the Oberon held up if maybe a little heavy/syrupy than other summer brews. It seemed to have some more hoppy bitterness than, say, the Anchor summer beer, but the sweet, yeasty aspects of the Belgian wheat style shined through. Happy B-Day, Crain.

This is a very refreshing wheat beer. Good balance of spices and fruit. Kind of like a #9 hat. Would drink it again.

Typical hazy gold with a less pronounced head for the style. Nice aroma. of oranges. Sweet up front with a sour tangy finish. Did not like at all. Poured down the sink actually. I guess I’m in the minority on this.

Bottle at Elephant and Castle, Chicago. Pours a hazy straw color with minimal head. Aroma is bread and lemon. Flavor is wheat, lots of citrus and caramel malt sweetness. Medium mouthfeel and nice clean finish. Not my favorite style, but a very nice sessionable beer.

Pours a very nice shade of golden honey. Yeasty aroma; dough & some citrus. Strong malt flavors with a slightly bittersweet aftertaste. Overall, its smooth and easy to drink so... it’s worth drinking again.

tap - hazy orange pour, caramelly goodness. Some nice funky spice and wheatiness. Tasty and good for the style.

Bottle: Pours a Light Golden color, with a carbonated white head that dissipates really quickly. This Beer smells like a combination of funk and sweet malty. Flavors are similar, with a hint of spiciness and a touch of citrus, though I can’t pinpoint it. Yes, this beer seems to be unfiltered, but I have to say I enjoy it thoroughly. After Gumballhead this is so different the experience

olden yellow with a thin white head. There was a lot of small unfiltered wheat particles in this. Slightly hoppy finish. OK, but not great.
