Draught in a bar in Detriot airport. Hazy pastel yellow-gold color with a super fine head. Aroma of citrus, wheat malt, some banana. Lots of citrus in the flavor, clean and tasty with distinct hop bitterness and enough banana to remind you of a weizen. Cloudy and interesting. Great stuff.

Usually I don’t like wheat/summer ales but I like Oberon. Usually I find my self wishing I had either a hefe-weizen or a regular pale ale, but this one works for me. Although I like it, I am not going to go crazy over it like some folks do. Serving: Bottle and tap

Draft at Pinocchio’s into a standard pint glass Poured a hazy lemon gold with a modest white head. Lacing was ample and lasting. and lemon Nose was citrus upfront, especially orange, with some wheat and breay malt obvious as well. Taste started with sweet citrus moderated by malts and finishing with a crisp and pleasing bitterness. Mouthfeel was average for this style, lighter than medium with good carbonation. This was, like everything from Bell’s seems to be, a solid offering I will try again.

Bottled sample. Gold in colour with medium carbonation and a bit of haze. A bit more wheat malt and bread on the nose than expected with backing notes of yeast, and earthy spices. Pale wheat malt forward again on the palate with some mint and citrus on the back end. A bit heavy bodied, but there was enough bitterness to balance it out. Not quite the light and spicy ale that I had expected, but still fairly good.

Appearance- Cloudy orange yellow appearance with a huge white head. Lacing was minimal but present. Smell- Not much but I could detect a biscuit aroma with a citrus aroma as well. Taste- Very citrusy with a nice clean wheat taste. Mouthfeel- Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall- A great summer beer but overall nothing too impressive.

12/15/09 1st time in az. on tap and in bottles at papago! hazy shade of iced tea... yellow-y orange with a soft white head. it smells of oranges, coriander, dusty wheat, pale malt and floral. it tastes the same with a slightly bitter floral and grainy finish. crisp, clean, easy drinking and refreshing... why was this not always here? i could (and do) drink a ton of this stuff in the heat. 7/4/7/4/16/3.8
