Bottle from GBBF 2014. Poured a hazy orange, with a halo of white head and visible floating yeast. Aroma of grass, peal and wheat. Oranges and tinned fruit in the flavour, with a little straw. Rich finish, with some grain apricot and mango.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very hazy golden amber color with a one half finger white head. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over about a 5 min time period to leave a lighter level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The nose is quite heavy of an orange citrus mixed with lots of grainy wheat. Along with these smells is a yeasty nature as well as a little bit of cardamom and clove spice. Rounding these smells out are some grassy and more herbal hop aromas giving a rather nice mellow smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins, as the nose would have suggested, with a wheaty and orange citrus flavor. As the flavor advances, the yeasty flavors come along and bring with them flavors of a light corriander spice and some banana. A grassy flavor comes to the tongue more toward the middle of the taste and gets slightly stronger as the taste advances to the end. Along with the grassy flavor, the wheaty flavor grows in strength and becomes more grainy with more yeasty flavors coming to the tongue as well. With the mix of flavors that reside at the end, a rather grainy wheat and yeasty citrus flavor is left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is on the average to slightly creamier side for a brew of 5.8% abv with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly above average. The creamier body is very nice for the wheaty and grainy flavors of the brew while the citrus is nicely accentuated by the moderate to slightly higher carbonation.
Overall – A nice drinking American Pale ale with a good blend of wheat, yeast, citrus and grassy flavors. Rather tasty.

Wheat beer isn't my favorite, but on a warm sunny day I sure do like 3-5 bottles of Oberon.

Bell’s Oberon Ale is the classic American Pale Ale in my opinion. Bought at a Kroger Supermarket in Douglasville, GA. This beer blew me away with its complex flavor and awesome appearance.

Very hazy golden with white head. Aroma is citrus and wheat. Refreshing, caramel malt, quite a bit of CO2, cereal almost chocolaty. Slightly grassy hops in the finish. This is one of my least favorite styles of beer, but I enjoyed this one very much.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours cloudy yellow with a nice creamy white head, some retention and lacing. gentle citrus-grapefruit and crackling wheat, lean and fresh pale cereals, yellow skinned fruitiness, spicy peppercorns, lemon peel, dry wheatiness, hint of melons and pineapple, sulfur traces. average carboantion, light body - just a tad watery, dry and almost crisp and astringent herbal-grassy-spicy-citrusy finish. enjoyed!

DATE REVIEWED: August 10, 2014... GLASSWARE: Rare Vos shaker... OCCASION: Shark Week 2014 kicks off...with another mockumentary?!...APPEARANCE: hazy to the point of opaqueness; burnt yellow body; simple white head; little effervescence... AROMA: some pitchy yeast and bubblegum is planted in a malty base; gentle hops round out the profile ... PALATE: light body, slightly active; soft from tart to finish, barely suggesting an ale in the wheat; highly drinkable... TASTE: bright, slightly sou lemon and light malts; some pepper and clove arrive late;remarkably flavorful for a refresher...OVERALL: much better than Shark of Darkness, much to my disappointment of the latter; Oberon is crisp, remarkably balanced, and on par with Victory’s Whirlwind--a worthy case mate for Bell’s Two Hearted...

Exactly like the description by the brewery- spicy hop profile with some fruitiness, mostly bitter orange. Wheaty/yeasty. Decent, especially in the heat.
