Bell’s Oberon is a wheat ale fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer.

Bottle, clean pour little head and a bit of sediment. Light hazy gold, definite wheat/biscuit scent with a trace of fruit. Clean crisp malt, orange, straw, corn. Refreshing yes but not big enough for my typical taste.

Perfect beer for those looking to avoid a hoppy PA, or someone who "doesn't normally" care for beer. Smooth, easy drinking, great hot day treat. Not a lot of character for the snooty beer expert, but perfect for anyone looking for refreshment. Has a fine body, decent carbonation, good, if not "neutral", taste, nothing offensive, yet not a Budweiser or Miller sort of vibe/taste. Nice beer.

Big creamy longlasting head, slightly hazy. Aroma is slightly sweet grainy, leafs, light malts, wet hay, grass, minerals, overripe tropical fruits, sap, paper. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, leafs, minerals, bark, paper, hay, flowers, old lawn, medicine, chlorine. Medium bitterness, dry medical mouthfeel. Meh!

BOD 3/3/16. Almost clear golden pour with suspended matter. Add the bottom of the bottle and it becomes quite full of suspended matter. Very good head volume, average retention and outstanding lacing. Good nose of light lemon and wheat cracker. Light body that is smooth. Outstanding carbonation / body balance. A light effervescence at the beginning that gains strength and closes with a nice prickly finish. The flavor profile is very good but lacks a bit of complexity. Intensity and balance are outstanding. Light lemon and wheat cracker arrive initially. Mid palate delivers a subtle bitterness and an equally subtle biscuit sweetness. Clove becomes the main component from the middle on riding over the wheat. The finish is somewhat crisp and light clove lingers.

Two 12 oz bottles at The Beechwood Lounge. Bready malt characteristics with light spicy hop bitterness and hints of fruity esters. Light and pretty easy drinking overall.

Okay ale. Unfiltered might be throwing me off but a bit flat on the wheat side though I get the pale ale part ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
