Bell’s Oberon is a wheat ale fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer.

Lots of sediment, orange hazy wheat. Do get the spicy hops and citrus while not losing the wheat.

Beer pours hazy amber to honey colored, with a nice bit of continued bubbling. Pours with about 3/4" of dense white foam, beer smells of pepper, citrus and an off putting smell that is hard to place if drank cold. Once past this particular aroma and letting the beer warm it comes across the palate smooth, and silky tastes of wheat, pepper, and has a bitter hop finish with a warming aftertaste. Beer is complex enough to appease most but still an easy drinker.

On tap at the Federal Taphouse in Harrisburg, Penn. Olive-yellow pour with a little wheat haze. Loads of toast, wheat, coriander, and fruity notes on the nose. Medium body. Great spicy toast with a nice bitter finale. The wheat is a big part of this but the fruity spice makes it.

Pours a cloudy orange color; billowy, white head. Aromas of orange, wheat, lemon, some spice (coriander?). Taste is more mellow and smooth than the aroma would indicate, and that's a good thing, mostly mild wheat and a little hint of the orange/lemon combo. Nice offering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Inn at Bay Harbor, poolside, draft. Looks like summer. Slightly fizzy. Smells orangey. Doesn't taste as organgey. Pretty bitter, hoppy, dishwater-soapy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells like a wheat ale and maybe a little citrus. Medium carbonation, slight foam, and semi watery. Taste is all wheat and orange citrus bite. Aftertaste is 10-20 seconds and the same. Has a bit of orange peel bitterness that lingers.

Pours cloudy golden color with a white head. Aroma is light malt with orange, and earthy hops. Flavor is a sweet light malt with citrus flavors of orange and lemon. Earthy hops flavors with spicy yeastiness. One of the better wheat beers I’ve had. Nice summertime beer.

Decent for a summer beer. Smooth taste and light/medium body. No flavors that stick out too much.
